I love the big digital display that I can read at a distance and the tune it plays when I start it up. I'm still learning about all the settings, but it does a great drying job.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We bought the Whirlpool electric clothes dryer (YWED5605MW) a month ago along with a matching washer. It replaced a 20-year-old Whirlpool Duet dryer that still worked well and were able to sell. The new dryer works well and is simple to use as the Duet and uses far less electricity than the Duet. We did not consider other brands as we were pleased with the Duet and Whirlpool makes the Kitchenaid appliances in our kitchen.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This dryer is the newer version of the same Whirlpool dryer that we have had for the last 21 years. It is excellent, and has not disappointed us. Controls are easy to understand, and there is a host of options with regards to the type of program you wish to run. The unit is also very quiet, so if it's in the main area of your house, it can be run anytime. One new feature that I just discovered is that it has a prompt to remind you to clean the filter, and it only comes on when there is amount of lint that has accumulated. So it's not a continuous message that you would tend to ignore.

I have a feeling lint goes through the edges to the air outtake hose and esp when I pull out the lint tray, it seems some inevitably falls into the exit opening.i really think the lint catcher screen co part ent should have another screen to stop lint from falling in when I empty the compartment

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The control settings are not really user friendly. They do not allow to give the machine a preferred setting and keep it there. Each time I use it I have to completely re-set my preferences. If I miss one setting my clothes do not get dried. I have to reset and dry another cycle.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Disappointing performance. Dryer takes over an hour to dry items on the highest "dryness" setting. More than once I have had to run the cycle a second time for complete dryness. I only purchased this one because I got the matching washer a few years ago. Would not recommend.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this unit a few weeks ago and find it is far too complex for its own good. Instead of being simple with 3 temperature options and either timed dry or type of fabric dry it has a myriad of options and combinations with the upshot that they do not dry as well as a simple timed dry. and I am yet to achieve a proper dry using the selection buttons!
