(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This was installed in a new condo I purchased two months ago. We are very happy with it. The only complaint is how dirty the filter area gets even when we clean it each time we use the dryer. The filter doesn't seem to be getting all of the fuzz.
We have been using this dryer for about 6 months. The heat pump uses about 1.1 KW a fraction of what a regular electric dryer uses. Dries at a lower temperature so it will take about 50% longer as compared to a regular dryer set to high heat. However, we always used the lowest heat setting on our old dryer so this one has similar dry times to what we were used to and no scorched cloths. Ventless dryer returns all of the electrical energy used back into living space so free heat gain in winter and does not vent warm inside air outside so the furnace doesn't need to heat the cold makeup air that comes in to replace the air vented outside. Double energy gain! Part of our net-zero energy solar home and this saves a lot of electricity for us. I estimate in the overall energy picture uses about 1/4 the energy in the heating season and worst-case uses about 1/2 when the AC is on in the summer. You do have two lint filters to clean but that is part of all ventless recirculation dryers. We have always found Whirlpool warranty service excellent over the years but have not had any issues with this appliance since it has worked perfectly so far but we know it is there if we need it. Great energy-saving product- Get over the slightly longer drying time and two lint filters to clean- well worth it.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is a replacement unit of another unit of the same model. The original one come brand new with the new condo. First few use already discover water leaking everywhere while trying to dry a load. Multiple visits from technician replacing multiple parts still can't resolve it. Finally they initiate an exchange for me. This new unit come and have exactly the same problem. Contact support again and luckily this time a more experienced technician finally know what's the problem and get it fix. This mean the exchange of the first one may and the multiple visits are not necessary. However, this does raise concern of the product as 2 units come brand new with the same problem and require technician on site visits to fix.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) No auto dry function - I.e. dryer to stop automatically when sensing clothes are dry. Need to remove lint in couple of areas Takes quite a long time (1+ hour) to completely dry clothes.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I received this dryer the first week of September. After 5 weeks of use it stopped working. Very disappointed with the quality. Several other users in the building have scheduled repairs for this same unit; so I am not an isolated case.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It came with my new condo. It's so squeaky and loud. So is its accompanying washer. Also, several times it started then stops a few minutes after.
Bought about 2 years ago. Worked well the 1st year. 2nd year it got worse and worse. Took it all apart to clean (terrible design BTW) and it STILL takes 6 hrs to dry a SMALL batch of clothes. Had a tech come by- test everything...said "it seems to be fine- all the sensors check ou) meanwhile he never actually tested it or even pulled out a multimeter. Called the help line- lady said they could send a tech to check it out- well we ALREADY had a tech come...he says it's dine BUT ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE 6 HRS TO DRY 3 TEA TOWELS!! ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE PRODUCT- EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT BUY.
This dryer came with my apartment. I've had nothing but problems. Clothes are still wet after the first go around. Which means time has to be added on, at least 30 minutes. I'm very careful to clean *both* lint traps! It's already been repaired once within the first year of me using it. And now it's working/not working! It goes for a bit then seems to stall and it sounds like it's trying to get the drum to go. I can't afford to get this thing repaired again. And hearing that it has to be taken apart to just have MORE lint removed by a tech is ridiculous! If I could toss this thing in the dump I would.
Horrible - we bought this dryer in 2021 and since have experienced nothing but break downs with it. The unit had to be taken apart and repaired with new parts within 2 years of purchase. To this day it is unreliable - if you run a normal drying cycle, it is a gamble if you can run a second one in a row without the unit shutting off and refusing to start. Unfortunately the extended warranty has run out and so I am stuck with this lemon of a unit until it decides to one day stop working altogether.
We have 3 of these machines in our small condo building. One machine is generally ok with no problems, one mostly dries ok, (within the cycle set) but often makes buzzing and whiring noises, and one rarely dries anything without have to restart it numerous times, and always makes loud buzzing and whirring noises. We've had repair people out, but still not working property. I've used ventless machines before, and these are by far not the quality of most- attempts to work with customer service have been frustrating to say the least. These machines are less then 2 years old, and the corresponding washers are great...I have scheduled another service call out, and if this doesn't solve the issues, unfortunately we will likely need to replace the whole stack if we want a working dryer, and it won't be with a whirlpool product.
