Whirlpool WRB329DMBB 18.7 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this fridge for just under two weeks now and so far it's been working well. I have the freezer and fridge set on number 4, and it's been keeping the temperature at about 38 degrees and 0 degrees, respectively. I removed the plastic dividers from both freezer shelves, so I could more easily fit larger items like pizza boxes in there. In order to get those dividers off, you have to pry off the hook that holds them on at the back of the freezer drawers. I don't have it hooked up to water, so am not using the ice maker. I pushed the metal piece up to turn off ice making. Oddly enough, the other night I heard this strange sound that sounded like water gurgling in the freezer area, and the temperature went up to 16 degrees instead of the usual 0. After a while the noisy gurgling stopped and the temperature went back down again. Don't know what that was all about, but I'll have to keep and eye (or an ear) on it. Otherwise, the fridge has been working well, and it's so much more convenient having a top fridge section, instead of having to lean over all the time with our old top freezer fridge. It took a little while to get all the shelves set and organized to our liking, but now it's set up in a way that is very convenient for food access. Our old Whirlpool fridge lasted 25 years, and it was still working when we replaced it, and I don't imagine this new one will last as long! But we replaced it for the convenience of having a top fridge.

The old Maytag version lasted me close to dozen years without a problem, was the perfect size for the tight space I had to navigate and perfectly configured for a single guy. looking forward to a long lasting relationship with this new version.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned this refrigerator now for a month and it functions perfectly. I love the bottom freezer and top fridge. We use the refrigerator more than the freezer so it makes sense to have it where everything is at standing level. It has an excellent seal, is quiet and has a lot of space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased less than a month ago, chosen because I wanted a small-ish unit with a bottom freezer, in white NOT stainless steel, and had handles NOT slots to open the doors. Hate "French door" fridges. Only Whirlpool checked all my boxes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good. I've only had it for 2 1/2 weeks, replacing a very similar Kitchen Aid which bit the dust after 5 yrs. This one is a little cheaper....door is not weighted so it swings all the way open and doesn't close on its own, no wide bin spanning the whole fridge, no butter holder on the door, the bins are not on rollers, so they are less smooth to pull out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been waiting for this fridge. It is perfect for our family and I am done with the top freezer; so done. I believe our other fridge has a couple additional cu.ft., but we don't miss it at all.

I went from a top freezer to bottom and takes some getting used to since you can't see what is on the bottom of the bin. There is flexibility with the fridge shelves since they are adjustable in order to make room for taller items and ample door space. What I'm very unhappy with is how the wheels work. In order to lock the fridge in place, you have to screw the legs out to a certain length to ensure the door closes automatically. This requires two people since one has to lift the fridge up by the door while the other persons screws the legs out to the position needed. This totally negates the purpose of having wheels since you can't freely roll the fridge out to clean beneath and behind. Pointless to have wheels!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seems like a solid, basic fridge. We didn't have a lot of choices due to the limitations of our space but Whirlpool is a reliable brand and this seemed almost the same as the Kenmore we had previously. There is less room in this fridge and for the first week I couldn't get the temperature cold enough. I don't like the 1-7 numbering system for temp, rather than showing an actual temperature, and I ended up buying a stand alone thermometer for both the fridge and freezer to make sure I could track for food safety. We had to set the temp to a higher number than recommended by Whirlpool to keep the fridge under 40. I wish there was a butter dish mount on the door and I wish there was one more drawer but other than that this unit is doing it's job. Simple, nothing fancy, but that's all we needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only thing I'm not crazy about is the two screwheads on the door front on the right hand side. The floor model I saw at the store was the larger version of this refrigerator and it didn't have the screw heads on the front of the door.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jury is still out. I'm not in love with this fridge; it was my only choice due to height limitation of cabinets. The fridge is handsome, and I like that it doesn't have a lot of buzzers and whistles. This fridge replaces a 25-year old Amanda that was still purring along, if a bit wheezy. I figured better to replace before the old one completely died. Seems like overall quality is just kinda average. I'm dubious the plastic on the veggie drawers will hold up, and the veg drawers don't close particularly smoothly. I miss the shelf-with-cover that lowers over the butter dish . The temperature swings between 34 and 40 degrees which seems like quite a lot to me. I don't have a busy household and only open the fridge a few times a day. It was noisy at first, until I learned that the ice maker was turned to “on”. I didn't want an ice maker, so didn't connect it to water. But once I turned the ice maker off, the loud noises stopped. Yay for that! For energy efficiency, it seems pretty good, though interestingly, the power used in a year for this new fridge is identical to that of my 25-year old fridge that was slightly larger. Hmmm, go figure! Overall, I rate this refrigerator as average; nothing to wow you, but functional.
