WHIRLPOOL WRS315SDHM side by side freestanding refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a refrigerator right away as our Samsung freezer part quit working. Also needed it in white as I have an all white kitchen. There were not many choices in white that is readily available. So happy I went with this refrigerator. It looks very nice in the kitchen instead of the huge bulky one we had.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I reviewed my new whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator a few months ago. I own all whirlpool appliances (four all told). This refrigerator replaced the one that faithfully served us for 21 years. It has many shortcomings. The three most noticeable are the high noise level (I had to install sound deadening on two walls to quiet it. Second, the ice cube maker is massive and takes up a fifth of the freezer. I removed it and bought ice cube trays. Third, and the worst, is that on the recommended temperature setting (there are only four settings) much of what's in the refrigerator freezes and spoils. If I set it a notch lower, everything in the freezer melts. I would not buy this model again. I notice that my son's Whirlpool refrigerator has the same problem. There are many features I like, which I reviewed in an earlier post.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The design of the water/ice area on the outside of the door is not user-friendly. You have the water dispenser right in front of the ice dispenser…… so you accidentally dispense water when you put your large cup to the machine to get ice. Such a mess!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the design and the led lighting. The shelving is simple and easy to remove and clean. This refrigerator is very noisy compared to the refrigerator that it replaced. The fan motor makes a lot of noise and sometimes sounds like it has bad bearings. The temperature are very precise, but the refrigerator seems to run an excessive amount of time..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The overall size is nice, big enough to fit a lot of items. The design of the water/ice dispenser is horrible. The water lever is in front of the ice and easy to tap causing water to splash everywhere when you are trying to dispense the ice. Ice dispenser freezes over constantly and doesn't dispense ice. We've been having to grab ice by hand from inside the freezer. I enjoy my whirlpool appliances but would suggest passing on this particular model.

I had to wait about two months for this side by side due to needing a specific color. The delivery was excellent but the build quality of this refrigerator is far below Whirlpool Standards of my other Whirlpool appliances. The side by side doors are approximately 1/2" misaligned vertically and two shelves were not included with the refrigerator from the factory. One shelf on the refrigerator side and one shelf from the freezer side.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator was delivered one month ago. I bought it based on favorable reviews. My experience has been just the opposite. The cooling fan in the freezer is very noisy. It sounds like the motor has a bad bearing(s). The refrigerator is very noisy compared to my previous refrigerator. Last night the refrigerator shut down. When I awoke this morning, I unplugged the refrigerator and plugged it back in. It is cooling now, but I don't know for how long.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a whirlpool refrigerator for almost 18 years before this new one . The new one is TWICE as loud as the old one . The new one was at 53 decibels from a foot away and you can feel the kitchen floor buzzing while standing on it 5 feet away .

It came with a new house we bought. The ice machine keeps dripping water on the outside of the door. Whirlpool wouldn't do anything about it. They wanted us to count the ice cubes that comes out and make sure it ran a full cycle. Really? Pulte, the builder, is as bad because they wanted us Whirlpool to take care of the problem. So, I am going to have to purchase another brand even though ours is not even one year old

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product makes a loud humming noise almost constantly, loud enough to be heard from the living room. It's enough to drive me batty at times. If quiet operation is important for you, do not purchase this fridge.
