WHIRLPOOL WRS555SIHZ side by side freestanding refrigerator

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I love the black stainless finish - so easy to wipe and keep clean - no fingerprints or water marks ! The ice maker on the door gives me more freezer space on the shelves. I love having ice cubes easily available. The fridge shelves are not quite as sturdy or adjustable as they were 20 years ago but I can live with those differences because the door finish is awesome looking (just don't scratch it). Some of the reviews mentioned the compressor sound but mine is the same low hum as the one I purchased 18 years ago so I don't hardly notice the sound. The water filter is so much easier to replace than on my old model - just flip open the compartment at the bottom outside of the fridge and out pops the old filter. I am very happy with my new Whirlpool 36 inch side X side fridge. Yippee !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the design & functionality of our fridge so far, but the ice maker produces almost no ice. Repaired person is coming in a week. Also, the water spout on the fridge is a trickle; no way to fill a cup with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had the refrigerator for about 2 1/2 months and it's been quite good. The interior, cooling etc.. has been excellent. It's noisier than expected and the ice holder doesn't fit very well in the freezer door.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaced an older model Whirlpool. A couple of changes.... Water filter not in fridge, nice. Shelves are more adjustable but the change to the inside lighting leaves very dim spots if you fill the crisper or put something tall on the top shelve. hope it saves on the energy use. Happy with my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The stainless steel exterior is nice. The icemaker is nice. However I do not like the inflexible nature of the shelves in the refrigerator side. Also, I don't think this model is cooling my food efficiently and I have it on the highest setting and while the milk near the vent is frozen, food further down doesn't feel super cold. Kinda disappointing.

Bought this model about two weeks ago after a "better" model we bought was back-ordered for over 6 weeks and we finally gave up and got a refund and bought this one. It's definitely lesser quality, but was also $300 cheaper than our original choice. Major complaint, like other have pointed out, is the water dispenser design and most recently, the ice maker keeps freezing up to the point that it will not dispense ice. The ice bin is full but the dispenser keeps building up frost and then won't budge. Hate to go through the hassle but I think this one is going back!!!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We bought this fridge to replace an ancient fridge that was starting to fail. Our new side by side refrigerator is extremely loud, it runs continually and sounds like it is about to take off. When we called to schedule a service call we were told that this could potentially be our fault, the refrigerator was one week old. When the service technician came we were told this was normal. So now we have a refrigerator that is loud, always on and extremely frustrating for the cost of a new appliance.

I bought this fridge three years ago and within the first few months the door shelves broke they are cheaply made! After three yrs the freezer stopped freezing and to find out tue compressor is gone. For the amount of money spent on this fridge to have these issues at only 3 years is crazy I'm not impressed and actually very disappointed. Whirlpool was a good name now I don't think I would want to buy another. It's just crazy it should last more than 3 yrs.
