WHIRLPOOL WRT549SZDM top freezer freestanding refrigerator

Our old refrigerator was close to 20 yrs old and was starting to make strange noises, so we researched and found our present whirlpool which had similar features but with more modern improvements eg LED lighting etc. It's been several months and we are completely satisfied with it. It's very quiet, uses less energy, and is a little roomier than our previous one even though it's similar dimensions outside.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This fridge has a lot to live up to. It replaces a 33 year old magic appliance that kept food fresh way longer than expected. So far, it's functional. I wish the cheese/meat drawer were deeper and the crispers are not long for the celery (placed on a bias, taking up more room). I suppose I will get used to it.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Within 2 weeks the freezer was creating frost lines on the upper part and the top of the door. Fortunately it was an easy fix. Each time the compressor starts there is a big ticking sound until the compressor stops. Very annoying

We actually bought two exactly the same They have not worked properly from the beginning, but the last couple months it will not keep a steady temperature. I finally called for a repair person to come out. He has been here 4 times and is coming back tomorrow. He is grasping at straws to figure out what is wrong. I requested they be replaced but was refused. I have lost food numerous times due to the huge fluctuations in temperatures. Both fridge and freezer. I am extremely disappointed with the fridges as well as the warranty department. To have fridges that done work and Whirpool doing nothing for me has made me realize that I would NEVER recommend buying anything from this company and will tell anyone who will listen my story!

The fridge came with the house. The realtor said the previous owner purchased it one year prior, still new. Within first 10 months it started to freeze everything in the fridge so we adjusted the temperature and it started to unfreeze our freezer items. It has been over two months that the fridge cannot freeze items. I posted a review Aug 23rd, but no one seems to take care of it.

I put up with the door not really holding anything well whether it fell through like the freezer or not narrow enough in fridge to hold bottles upside down when near finished. The fridge door looked nice in store but after sometime you realize it is very badly designed. The sealing was warped but it appeared to not leak coldness. The stainless steel is very hard to keep looking nice. Now what has made me write this review after 2 years is that I am having the repair man again in less than 2 months to fix it. First the fridge was freezing and defrosting all day long and now the freezer is doing it. Ugh as I write this I notice it now makes loud noise when motor turns on. I am so hoping to replace this somehow. I'm fed up of wasting money on food.
