Having seen a mixture of positive and negative reviews for this radar detector (and detectors in general), I can so far say that it has been great. It has a lot of customisation options, picks up laser and all types of radar, and is very good it distinguishing the different types (as some types are more likely to be garage door remotes etc that are not a concern). It also has GPS built in which allows it to learn where false alarms are, for example if you drive past somebody's house with a garage remote that triggers the radar frequently, after a while the unit realises that it's always there and is not actual speed detection radar so it will stop warning you about it. I personally have not had it long enough to verify this function but I thought it sounded pretty useful.
start up is slow literally tells you each one ...then like 5 seconds after tells you it's active like no shi*..but seems to work good so far have to read up on it more though
This detector is the first we've owned to include SO MANY accessories and features - even GPS traffic camera notifications! INCLUDED in the box: detector, accessory plug with additional USB port built-in so you can still charge/run other devices from the same plug-in, hardwire install cord (if you prefer that option), dash pad/mat AND a suction cup windshield mount. Have yet to have any false alerts and gone are the days of the continual beeping when near new vehicles with safety radar systems (Audi, Kia/Hyundai, GM, etc.). With the excellent new feature set and customizable options it's the most feature packed detector for the price in the marketplace, period. Would definitely recommend this for anyone who is considering purchasing a new detector. A++
Awesome detector. Some false alarms, but really came through when it mattered and saved me from a lot of speed traps. Great range, too... A must have for any road trip. Packed with features, too!
Great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It's a piece of mine more that trying to get away with speeding.
Just what we needed!
This product works. Not every police car you are going to see is going to detect anything because not every single car is radaring speeds. You will get alerts when you go but businesses like CVS or such, or red lifht cameras. I was impressed with the distance it recognied the radar too. I am impressed.
Very good detector, especially for its price. I also have a previous model (CR90) and like it so well that I got this one for our other car. It effectively filters out false alarms caused by other cars' radar cruise controls and collision avoidance systems which fool most other detectors. That makes this unit a "quiet" detector. When it alerts you, it is almost always from police radar or laser. Most expensive detectors do no better. There is a large list of adjustments and filters by which you can fine tune the unit to suit your particular situation and tastes. The default settings are good, but the adjustments made it even better for me.
Does a very descent job at filtering out false signals, most of the time when it goes off its probably police radar. It is cheaply made compared to my last whistler, the power plug doesn't fit very well and is sensitive to any movement. Overall it works as advertised.
