People must be from the north who are giving this below 5 stars. I don't normally buy box cake mix because I'd rather do it from scratch or from a recipe, but I decided to use two boxes for one bundt pan cake, and this turned out to be a decent box cake mix. Sure, the recipe calls for 10 tablespoons of butter for one batch, which ended up being 2.5 sticks of butter, but it turned out to be worth it. I definitely would recommend this to anyone willing to put in the time. I also used a bread whisk I purchased from Walmart as well. No hand mixer or my KitchenAid professional mixer. This is from someone who grew up in the deep south where home cooking is life.

I mixed it up and used it in a 9x13 pan to make lemon bars. I added three tablespoons of lemon juice to the water two total 3/4 cup of water and lemon juice combined to give it more of a lemon punch. When I mixed up the glaze, I put half water and half lemon juice. It makes it really good! I let it cool almost completely, then I mixed up a 1/4 cup of lemon juice and a 1/4 cup of white sugar. stirred it until the sugar was dissolved. I poked holes in the top of the uniced cake and spooned the lemon sugar drench over the cake. I let that soak in for about 10 minutes. I then frosted the lemon bars with Philadelphia cream cheese frosting that they sell at the store. And then I drizzled the lemon glaze that came with this cake over the top of the frosting.

I read reviews before making this, many said the cake part wasn't very lemony so I added 2 t lemon extract, next time I'd add 3. I also "doctored" it up per my usual routine, by using milk rather than water, 3 or 4 T sour cream and I added an extra egg. I think it's wonderful and don't really understand the negative reviews but I know taste is subjective. It was so moist, almost custardy and cakey combined. As most reviewers stated, the glaze is great and pops with bright lemon flavor. Everyone said the cake is small and you need 2 boxes, I only had 1, so I made it in my 8x8 pan, it rose up to the top but didn't overflow. Next time I'll get 2 boxes and make in my bundt pan. I have bee. making pound cakes for probably 20 yrs.... never made a lemon and tried this mix. Easy, delicious and so moist! Worth every penny and will definitely buy again!

EXCELLENT! Good lemon flavor. Batter is dense %26 makes a dee-lish pound cake. Glaze topping included. Will definitely buy again. Refreshing Spring and Summer treat served with berries and diced mango topped with lemon zest.

I followed the directions exactly and this cake was delicious! I highly recommend it. I covered it with the glaze that was included, and then topped it with homemade cream cheese frosting.

absolutely no lemon flavor in the cake. the icing packet is lemony but the cake is not. wasted my money. thought I was getting lemon pound cake mix. it was vanilla cake. disappointed
