Produces the perfect sonic ice! NOT just a small ice cube, it's the ice that is frozen in tiny layers so it's soft when you chew it. The machine is quiet and makes ice very quickly. This is the third different ice maker we've had, in general I've found that their life span is about a year because we used them 24/7 so I will order this exact one again, its THE ONE.
I wanted a small unit that can fit under my countertops but still provide a good amount of ice for my 6 person family. And most important, I wanted something quiet. This unit hits the mark on both! Glad I purchased. The ice is also the small ice pellets which my kids like.
Easy setup. Very stylish and modern. I like that it fits on my small countertop space and its not tall like other nugget ice machines. Price is within reason for me. It is true nugget ice shape. Has a light over the ice basket that auto shuts off in 10 minutes. Makes drinking beverages more enjoyable. Definitely worth the hype and splurge.
Overall a great product. We use this ice maker in our kitchen for mostly drinks, and it keeps up with our family of 4. Happy with the purchase. Keep the instruction manual too, lots of good info in there.
I owned the keenstar version of this ice maker. this one is much quieter and produces ice at a good rate. I love the crunch!
I love this ice maker. I purchased this specifically because of the brand I also have their electric ice cream maker that I absolutely love. I've had another brand ice maker that was bulky and didnt last very long. This whynter is smaller and more quiet. I like that the coolant lines are encased in the housing and not hanging out the back like my old one did. I was always afraid the line would get crimped. One thing you might want to watch for…. Initially when I tried to run the clean cycle prior to using, I was getting an error message stating add more water. The directions only stated add water to the reservoir. You need to add water to the top reservoir and the interior where the drawer is. Pull the drawer out and shine a flash light inside. You should see in the back the “Max” line. I would highly recommend this ice maker
Does what it advertises to do
Very nice product. Works as advertised.
This is THE ice maker that I have been searching for. It's the 3rd ice maker we have purchased and the ice is not just tiny ice cubes, it's the eraser shaped ice that is made out of layers of frozen ice. This makes it so soft to chew on and so satisfying. It makes ice very quickly and is quiet. In our open floor plan we cannot hear it making ice. We will buy another one whenever this one dies.
Love the machine, but it consistently starts making a horrible shrieking noise and we have to turn it off all the time. It's two months old and this has been happening since the first week, I was looking to reviews to see anyone having the same experience. Maybe a dud we need to return?
