This ice maker replaced a true "built-in" that was put in by the original builder. Makes ice quickly. It does have a pretty noticeable vibration in the coils/vent area when it cycles on. Lasts about a minute. Ice is the banana style, but smaller than a conventional kitchen ice maker. It gives specific instructions about "having a professional plumber install...." But, of course we weren't going to do that- after all, this is about saving money to re-sell our home. It doesn't come with all of the parts to install the unit to the water line, and it tells you that it doesn't in the instructions. BUT, if you already have the hose and the fittings, you'll be fine. Overall, good product for a good price. I'd recommend it!

We use A LOT of ice daily in our home. Our fridge runs out early, mid-afternoon at the latest. The addition of this ice maker has not let us run out of ice yet. When it kicks on, it is a little noisy, but no more than most refrigerated appliances. Not a single problem yet.

It works like a charm. Had professional plumbers connect the waterline to avoid leaks. Started to make ice right away. Bucket fills up in a few hours and the ice maker shuts itself off. Good product for the money.

We live in a rural area, far from grocery stores, so an ice maker is a must. We love this one from Whtnter. The shape of the ice is great, it doesn't melt as fast as the usual sharp-edged crescent shape ones do. It's very efficient and not terribly noisy. A great purchase!

Bought this ice maker 3 months ago and I am somewhat satisfied except that it makes a great amount of noise when the machine is producing ice. Need to quiet it a little bit but still not bad for the price.

This product has to be returned. It has been plugged in for 8 days and finally produced only 5 ice cubes! I think I got a faulty one:(

This unit makes ice fast enough, but, in the middle of the night, it rattled so bad, it woke me. You can see through the rear vent that the white plastic fan blade starts to wobble so bad, it shakes the floor. Already talked to Walmart about returning it. I don't trust this design enough to warrant a replacement. The rest of the unit appears to be good quality, the manufacturer just skimped on the most important part. The part that moves.
