You can tell the difference between this brand and other tuna brands the moment you open the can—this is the real deal, no question about it, quality stuff. lotsa meat, no garbage, just fish. A bit pricey, but if you love tuna its worth it . Never had tuna like this before, seems to make much more than cans of other brands of same size, I was surprised. I'm not a big tuna eater however, but if I was, this would definitely be on my shopping list.
I started buying Wild Planet Tuna months ago because there's a sold hunk of tuna and very little water in the can. It is worth the higher price because it isn't like other brands that are more water than tuna. For anyone not familiar with skipjack, it's a darker color and slightly stronger fishy taste than albacore. I mix one can of albacore with one can of skipjack and it tastes fine. We love tuna and use a lot of it and Wild Planet is my %231 brand.
This tuna is fantastic , it tastes so so much better than the cheaper waterd down brands. Nice flaky texture with no strong after tastes.
A bit expensive for a can that isn't chock full of tuna, but the taste and texture of the tuna is excellent. It tastes high-quality versus the rubbery tuna of other brands. I highly recommend Skipjack Tuna.
This tuna is the best I have eaten. Its tender, tasty, not to salty, moist. It is absolutely a great tasting tuna. I made a tuna noodle casserole with two cans and it was great.
highly recommend this tuna. it is a great protein. I make a little simple salad for sandwiches. it's delicious! I've added it to tuna pasta salad. it has the best flavor. yes it's a little pricier but to me it's worth it better product
Much better than US brands of mushy water soaked tuna.
Unlike traditional canned tuna that arrives swimming in a heavy layer of water or oil, this pack contains purely wild-caught fish with just a touch of sea salt. There is no massive pool of liquid to drain off, meaning you are actually getting a full 5 ounces of solid, dense fish rather than paying for water weight. The standout feature here is the texture. The skipjack is firm, clean, and holds its shape perfectly without turning into a soft, mushy paste when mixed. Flavor-wise, it hits the perfect balance: it tastes incredibly fresh and clean without any of that overtly sharp, aggressive "fishy" aftertaste or smell that usually plagues canned varieties. It is easily delicious straight from the can. This tuna is a good, quality, firm protein for salads or quick meals; this is well worth the upgrade.
I used the drive up option to order 5 cans of Wild Planet Tuna. It was so confusing I went inside the store to pick up the Tuna. I was informed that only 3 cans were available. There would be a $6.94 refund, which I have not received. As I did some other shopping in the store, I went to the Tuna section and guess what, several can of Wild Planet Tuan was on the shelf. Unbelievable. I would never order like that again and WHERE IS MY REFUND!
Of the 8 cans 5 were damaged with dents from improper packaging when shipped. They were loose in a plastic bag and suspect this is reason for such damaged tuna cans.. I am worried that the seal may have been broken for at least 3. I took pictures however my phone camera sucks and its hard to see all the dents.
