Perfect for my purposes
I use Excelsior for animal bedding--birds, cats. This is the best! Nice long strings, little dust or crumbs, conveniently divided in several mats about 3" thick. More for the money than pre-made nest pads and no thread to tangle bird feet like the erosion control mats.

Worked good
Worked great for the display project that I made. It was WAY more than I needed, but at such a good price, guess I'll have to do some more projects like that. If you use this stuff, do it outside because it "sheds" a lot and sprays wood dust everywhere!

The excelsior is course, but ok for the price. The box came with only the bottom taped closed, so I was amazed to see that the product was still ok.

DON'T BUY!
The product arrived, however, the box was delivered damaged and opened and only a small amount of the product was in it. DON'T BUY! Plus, I had contacted Walmart and they didn't care and said to send it back, which I couldn't since the box was so damaged and there basically nothing in it. SO STUPID!!
