This Gingerbread mini village was so much better than one giant house to build. Every Christmastime, my family builds a gingerbread house together. Most have turned disastrous as the whole building process is hard to build, very messy, and goes stale very fast. This was cute, fast, and my granddaughter ended up putting them all together in record time! They stayed fresh enough for the few days we waited to eat them. From now on, our Gingerbread house favorite!
I only recommend this if you have small children to do this with who don't really care about the quality of product your getting. The icing dries way to fast to actually decorate and it didn't come with nearly enough candy to stick to the dried icing. I would buy your own icing and candy to supplement what they give you if you plan on getting a nice look from this kit.
it was given to somebody, so idk if it's good or not. I guess it is, since the time of writing this I don't think they sed anything bad about it
Make sure to assemble houses in advance and let them dry. Otherwise they collapse while you're trying to decorate them. Another trick is to use the box to make cardboard forms to support the frame from the inside.
If you are planning do seperate the village to different builders, know it only comes with one bag of icing and bag for applying. was so much fun to put together!
I don't know why it gets low reviews. It is easy to assemble with a glue gun…clearly not intended to eat! I have several grandkids and they love decorating. Are they perfectly square and even…no. But they are cute enough that they are my family table decorations on Christmas Day.
Some of the cookies were cracked and in pieces. But, we were still able to use the good ones to make 2 little houses. The quantity of candies was enough but we used our own in addition to the ones provided for variety. The frosting did not work well for assembly. We don't eat it so we used hot glue and the frosting on top for decorating. In summary, it was a fun activity even though it wasn't perfect.
Good value for the money. There are 4 houses per kit, so for roughly $3.00 each, 4 people can participate. Nice small size for kids that will hold their attention long enough to complete. Great holiday tradition.
I ordered two of these online because I could not find them in the store. One of the boxes had broken pieces. (The other box was fine.)
Followed instructions and when we cut pieces apart, so many broke. Icing was very thick and did not stick to the gingerbread at all. Houses fell apart. We were bummed!
