Wilton Creamy White Decorator Icing Vanilla-Flavored 4 lb.

I’ve never used this pre-made icing. It is thick enough to use as frosting. This icing tastes amazing and I will never make vanilla frosting again!!! The texture is perfect. You can thicken it up and pipe roses and any other things that need a little stiffer consistency.

Being a sometime-cake decorator, I find this tub of Wilton buttercream is a great substitute for when there isn't time to make it from scratch. Plus, I can add one can, any flavor of store bought frosting to a few cups of this Wilton buttercteam to make a great frosting quickly.

I have designed and decorated cakes for 30 years. This icing is absolutely delicious! its very easy to use. The texture (in my opinion) is exceptional. Along with prices going up on everything...the cost of this icing is a bit expensive. It seems to cost more everytime I purchase it. Again, my opinion....its worth it. .

This item is perfect for Christmas cookies and cupcakes, it worked SO well and tasted SO good and SO fresh. The consistency was exactly what I wanted. I would recommend refrigerating for a short amount of time before actually being used. I also used sprinkles and sanding sugar, each combination worked great. Received quickly and packaged well. I will use this product again and again.

I’ve been using this product for years. Starting to feel it’s sweeter than I’m used to. However great icing for a beginner.

This buttercream has been amazing!! I have been baking a lot of birthday cakes and it has been so easy to work with and to decorate with!!

We really liked the consistency of the icing. It was easy to use. Just spoon it directly into your piping bags.

I've been getting this for years but this year the taste is.... off.... like it's not bad but it's not good either. It also usually firms up but it stayed soft this time so I'm not sure if they changed the recipe or I got a bad batch. I got the 4lb and two 1lb tubs.

Let's manage some expectations here. If you are looking for a tub of rich, creamy buttercream frosting you are going to be sorely disappointed. If you are looking for 8 cups of shelf-stable icing at a reasonable price then you will be very happy with this purchase. As other reviewers have said, straight from the tub the icing is indistinguishable from a tub of spackle. About 5 minutes in the Kitchenaid with the whisk attachment (and some vanilla extract for flavor) and this stuff turned out pretty dang good. I portioned it out and added some gel food coloring and it was perfect for two families to have a cake decorating party. The consistency was just right for piping. TL:DR - don't expect it perfect right out of the tub, but with a tiny bit of effort this works out great.
