I use this when working with royal icing, it is a must-have. It does slip off when using it with buttercream icing but I think it us because of the grease, I recommend that you wipe off excess icing before using this or if you happen to use it already and it slips, clean the tip and this silicone cover before replacing.
Love these tip covers. They are perfect for keeping my RI from leaking all over while working. Also used for storing icing on longer projects. Just wish you could buy them without the larger covers, which I don't use. Been searching everywhere but I guess they only have this one package.
i was afraid to get them because of some of the reviews. BUT boy im happy i got them anyway. They are a great investment and as long as you keep them clean they will always stay on and it will keep your icing from drying . i love love love my tip covers and i will order more. i recommend them
Love thes tip covers. I bake a lot of cut out cookies and they work great to use on the icing bags for all the different colors I have to use. They keep my icings from drying out and clean up great. Wonderful for traveling with your icings as well. Thanks Wilton for making a great product!!
I love these things. I used to have so much trouble with my Royal icing drying up in the tips when I make my bikini cookies. I would put plastic wrap around them but it would still dry up. I found that if I put these on & twist them when I put them on that they stay on really nice.
Bought these thinking it would help, but if you have them on very long in a certain direction, they will slide off. Good if you are refrigerating a bag but be sure to put it up in the air.
Great for keeping the icing from drying out especially if you keep your bags in the holder. They do however, slide off some of the tips. If that happens, I just unscrew the coupler, remove the tip, cover the opening with a piece of plastic wrap and re-screw the coupler.
Cool items, a bit expensive but they work.
I found that they slip off. However, I found that I could use a rubber band, twisting it around the tip cover, using the little tabs and wrapping it back around the bag. This works when you have an extensive project that stretches out over a longish period of time and need to keep several bags going. However, one good way to keep a bag from drying out (works even for royal icing!) is to remove the tip & the coupler ring, place a piece of plastic wrap over the end and put the ring back on. Twist the open end of the bag and secure with a bag tie or rubber band.
Poor design, they will not stay on. A better design would be a ring pressed into the tip with a grove in the silicone that would slide over the ring and keep these on.
