excellent budget chef steel

Good heavy duty honer
It is a large and heavy sharpener. I like the extra length since it allows for use with 8" or 10" knifes with ease.

Quality sharpening steel for the price
The Winware steel was mentioned in a review article that I read as a quality sharpening steel for the price. I googled for it and it was the best price at Walmart. It did not disappoint. The 12" length was ideal for honing. I would recommend it.

so far (2 weeks), so good
Way too early to review an item I've used only once. Plastic handle not as bad as it could be. Steel is a good length for longer knives, I've seen many shorter steels for sale and glad I chose this one. So far so good, but sharpening steels DO wear down over time, some faster than others depending on the quality of the steel employed.

Too big, but works well
Bigger than I expected - doesn't quite fit in knife rack. Otherwise, well-made, high-quality sharpening steel. It works well; I'm keeping it.
