My previous outside antenna had a limited performance with a H.D. VHF channel 8. My TV with a signal strength meter showed the previous antenna signal strength to only be a maximum of 60% on channel 8 and only 50% on channel 10. The HD8200U now shows the signal strength to be at 100% on all VHF and UHF channels. I live about 30 miles from channels 8 and 10 with hills between. The furthest channel 49 is about 50 miles in Tecate Mexico.
I'm getting Mexico NTSC broadcast in Northern Peoria AZ, Snowy, but getting it!
As a longtime antenna installer, there simply isn't a better long range antenna out there. Great long range performance, solid construction and superb durability. While the instructions could be better, I would suggest simply looking at a picture of the assembled antenna and copy it. Make certain you have a very strong mount as this antenna is highly subject to wind loading.
HUGE ANTENNA. REALLY PICKS UP A LOT OF TV STATIONS. I GET 25 CHANNELS OVER AIR!
Large antenna but it did fit in the attic. Antenna is about 9ft X 14ft. Brings channels in Tulsa, OK in clearly, even from in a small valley and next to a large 2 story house that blocks transmission. Satisfied.
The antenna word great, went from getting 6 channels with my old one to getting 29 channels with the Wingard HD 8200u. The only complaint I have was that shipping took about a week longer than expected and there were a couple screws and nuts missing which required a trip to the hardware store.
It's worth the money. The best one ii have ever had. I payed extra 3.00 dollars a total of 10.00 it was here the next day from walmart .com. Amazon wonted 50.00 pluse. Walmart is the way to go. I used a wineguard 200 preamp. I get a lot of channels Ron D
It's not as powerful as we'd hoped. Especially compared to our over 25 yr old radio shack antenna of same design but shorter. It seems to real picky as to where u aim it to get in signals. The radio shack antenna picked up signal in a more broad range. It seems to be more sensitive to atmospheric changes as well. Rain will cause signal loss on some channels. Again not a problem on the old antenna. Some channels are coming in a bit better but the other issues are just about a deal breaker. Not worth the extra money we paid for slightly better reception.
Need better details or illustrations on assembly.
was very disappointed as the old one we had 19 years was getting many more ,we live between Erie and Buffalo and could not get them even so took it back and put our old one back
