Color, size and design are exactly what I needed and expected. Assembly was super simple even for a female of over 67 alone. I had to do slight touch up sanding and finishing of the wood in one spot. Now it looks great and it is perfect for my small office space.

easy to put together and nice looking!

1st - I thought I was getting folding shelves like I had gotten before (which I liked so much I ended up buying ten of them a year and a half ago). With those, all you do is open the box, pull the sides out, and make sure you don't get hit or pinched when the shelves fall into place. 2nd - Two of the holes where the tiny screws fit must have been in a knot. First, I tried hammering a nail in (a good way to start a screw if there is no hole in the wood), thinking the tiny hole wasn't deep enough. Then, when everything was together and ready to tighten, I used a drill with a screw bit. The screws in those two holes didn't tighten. Then I took the screws out and tried longer screws. Nope. The thing was such a pain that I finally put wood glue under the two little things after I screwed them in as tightly as I could with the drill, and wrapped a little tape to hold them in place while I fought with the shelves. I also put wood glue in the holes in the bottom of the shelves that went on the two little things that were giving me a hassle. 3rd - It looks simple. It looks easy. Nope. One of the side screws just kept going round and round when I was trying to tighten things up. Luckily it was in pretty far, so as long as it doesn't work itself out it ought to be good (with the "plug" over it, I hope it will be fine). Also, the shelves kept trying to hit me, and fought with being put in the little holes in the back. It was a mess! After I got done, I immediately loaded it down with books from another bookcase so the weight would act as a clamp until the wood glue dries . I will not be buying these again - and if I can never find the kind I bought a year and a half ago, I will do something else when I need more shelves for my books. However, there are some good things about these shelves. The wood looks like good quality. The dark color matches my other shelves nicely, and they seem to be the same size. As long as I don't try to fold the shelves (because of the wood glue), they ought to last for a while.

I was surprised to find that this folding bookcase required assembly.......which was way more difficult than you would imagine for such a simple piece of furniture.
