Winsome Wood Spectrum High Back Adjustable Swivel Stool, Black & Chrome Finish

This was a second purchase on this item for me. Bought one about a year ago to use in my kitchen at the counter and to sit in while washing dishes; since it is adjustable and swivels, it is excellent for this purpose. My mom liked it so much that I purchased two for her. They are light weight, easy to move around and can be used at a low desk or high counter/bar. Since I can raise it up, it ls great for my 5 yr old granddaughter to sit in while I brush or braid her long hair - no bending over for me! My husband put it together and says it is simple to do. Durability is good, on both fabric and working mechanisms - I am overweight and this has never been a issue for this stool. I will and have recommended this product. I have and would purchase again without hesitation.

These are great bar stools! We love them! They are easy to put together. Easy to move about on the ceramic floor even when the plastic ring wears off after years. Look sleek and modern and hold up well! This is our third set that we've purchased. Unfortunately, the first set our de-clawed cat loved to scrub on them and shredded them. The second set we tried white and I literally wiped the finished off of them and they turned grey. I would never get white again unless you just want to look At them! ... and here we are with the third set. This time the little plastic ring that sits at the base was cracked on some of them when we were assembling so we didn't even bother putting them on and it actually looks better (richer) without them. So problem solved. I just wanted to say, I lovvvve Jet.com! You guys are super! Very helpful/professional whenever I have contacted you guys. Just great! The bar stool was very easy to assemble and has an excellent range of height adjustment. I like the modern design of the stool and the added feature of the integrated back rest on the seat. Best of all the price was very reasonable for the design and features of this stool.

I bought two of these for a kitchen counter/lounge area at my small business . The chairs are nice looking and the adjustable height works well since people of different heights and size will use these. The bottom is felt covered so they do not scratch the wood floors, which I was concerned about when ordering. The seat is a little small but most people will find the seat comfortable and the right size. The chairs seem like they are built well and should last a while . I am overall happy with this purchase and saved money since the cost was very affordable.

I use these chairs every day. I love that fact they are adjustable because I can use them anywhere in my house.

I wanted a barstool with a full back, that swiveled, and had adjustable height. This fits the bill. I ordered two of them after reading the reviews. I couldn't believe how easy assembly was for the first one. The second one was defective. Before I returned it, I was at WalMart, and saw the identical barstool, but in a different box, for $20 less than the online price. I bought the store stool, returned the defective one, and got a price adjustment for the first stool. The stools look good and are comfortable. The only negative is that I can't be sitting on the stool to life the seat, which makes sitting a bit clumsy. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

Comparative value is very strong. Pros: Easy assembly, simple operation, looks much better than plain stool, firm (but not stiff) back and seat support. Cons: Sinks a bit when sat upon, may not be suitable for tight spaces, kids may think it is a toy. Bottom line: For all features, a strong value

I have been purchasing this particular bar/counter stool for years. They probably last about 2-3 years because of quality of how they are made but I keep coming back for more since I love the simplicity of this design. The quality did go down since the last purchase. They always arrive damaged due to how they are packaged internally — either ripped seats or dented bases (very sad). The enclosed form that is accompanied with each stool is not clear since it has instructions to contact Winsome Woods for replacement parts instead of returning to original place of purchase. Also, this is what I have done in the past for previous purchase of this stool. I gave a 3) star for the price since I found on Amazon for $69 after I purchased from WalMart. We bought five of these stools about 9 months ago. At that time, they were significantly less expensive than they are now June 2012, but even now they are good deal (if they worked). Upon assembly, one was immediately defective. When you sit on it, it goes all the way down, and you can't adjust the height. About three or four months ago, another stool began to wobble, so that when you sit on it, it feels very unstable. So, based on our limited data so far, I'd say you have a 40% chance of getting a lemon. If I knew those were the odds, I would have passed. You might think otherwise. Just so you know, we don't have kids and it's not like we're doing anything to abuse these stools. These things are expensive, so I understand why you'd want to get a deal, but some deals aren't worth it. Hopefully my experience will point you down other paths.
