I would like to suggest anyone to buy this... beginner, hobbyist, and pro alike. This paint is cheaply priced-here (Winsor Newton) or for any brand-, and always a staple. It is a heavily useful paint, and, even though i8t is as toxic as any oil paint, not very. Winsor Newton is a trustworthy brand with good paints. In my opinion I would start on pro level paints and skip Winton. However, there is nothing wrong with Winton, it's just that if you get used to them, you will have to relearn when you finally do switch... that is just my opinion as someone who's been there.
Thankful that those poor cows don't have to live on mango leaves anymore. This is a nice transparent Yellow. Brightens up your white for warm sunshine in a landscape.
Zinc is great to use as a thin paint or a mix. But as soon as you get to impasto, or even thick, zinc can crack. It's best to use another white such as titanium, or combine them. Gamblin is a trustworthy fair priced brand.
This is a great color for sea & landscapes along with portraits! Beautiful color for mixing colors for facial toning and highlighting in portraits and sea & landscapes! All of Winsor & Newton Artist's Oils are great quality with so many perfect colors!
The only paint that I use now are the Winsor Newton Artists oil paint. I have used Old Holland but I prefer the texture and smoothness of the Winsor Newton Artists paints out of the tube. And, of course, they are not as expensive as Old Holland.
Looks like green out of the tube but acts like a yellow that won't tint so it's very useful for warming up a hue without lightening the value which is exactly why I bought it. It's also transparent which is handy.
This is my favorite Sap Green. I learned to use it when studying under Daniel Greene, NA, and have never found a better one.
Good quality. Our local craft store carries brands I never heard of. I'm not willing to use those on a regular basis.
Great quality for consistent painting. Very good bargain in large tubes when on sale! Fast delivery too.
Saw this color used extensively in a Great Courses Plus course, The Complete Painter by David Brody. Excellent course and this color is easier to mix than using titanium white.
