Clear instructions. Works fine. I have Directv and have it wired in to put Caller ID information on my TV screen. Politicians, charities, el. al. don't have a chance.
I have direct tv and wanted to put a phone cordinto the back of my tv box works great for my use
I bought this so I could use another phone and jack in my house after switching to Vonage. I was unable to use the other jacks in my house because my local phone company did some funky wiring and so the wiring quick fix which Vonage advertises did/will not work. Anyway, I read several previous reviews warning that this RCA product may not work depending on the wiring in your house. I took a chance anyway, and those reviews turned out to be correct. The wireless phone jack system DOES work, just not very well. There is a very loud hum/static noise on the phone which I've plugged into the jack. I'm guessing it is because the phone jack which I've plugged it into is not on the same circuit as my main Vonage phone (as mentioned in one of the reviews I'd read). But, at least now I can answer a phone at the opposite end of my house from my main Vonage phone and can tell the caller I need to switch to another phone. So, it's not perfect, but it suits my needs . . .
After reading other reviews, I noticed that most people having static problems were trying to put the base on one level of the home and they were using the wireless jack on another level of the home. I though that if the distance were much shorter, it wouldn't be a problem, as we only needed to create a new work station less than 20 feet away from the base. The static was horrible when speaking on the phone, so we ended up having to add extra wiring to the new phone, which was what we were trying to avoid. It probably works fine for hooking up satellite TV and such, but this is NOT a good product for trying to talk on the phone. It was a huge waste of money for our purposes.
I purchased this product inorder to use a telephone line connected to a fax machine. I installed the main sending unit on the 1st floor where the phone line was located. I then install the receiving unit on the 2nd floor. The total distance between main and receiving was less than 75 feet with an open foyer leading from the 1st to 2nd floor. It did not work. So I experimented by putting the two units in the same room at differenct ranges and it worked, kinda. If the distance exceeded 25 feet the units would not work. Waste of money. I wish the grading scale had a zero because that's what this product rates.
