I got by with a cheap pair of waterproof boots for years and decided no more. These are very comfortable. I did decide to get the wide width for a little extra room, and put a foam insole under the Wolverine one for a little more cushion. I hesitate saying they "run large," but I did size down 1/2 size based on my experience with a pair of Wolverine Chelsea's (normal width) I have. When I put them side-by-side with my Dr. Martens size 9, these 8 1/2's look about the same size, maybe slightly larger. So, they are slightly larger in my experience (I normally wear a size 9 sneaker). Unfortunately, everyone's foot is different, so you won't know until you try them on. They don't have a ton of arch support, so if you need that you will need to add your own insole of choice. Definitely recommend getting some balsam to treat and soften the leather.
my husband wears these boots until they're worn out. every year these boots are under the tree. around Nov. my husband starts can't wait till Christmas, I'm in need of a pair of boots. I have bought other styles even the ones that look like regular tennis shoes, one year I bought the cowboy boot style (those were quickly given to our son. if it isn't this boot my husband will either return them the next day or give them to someone who needs steel toe boots.
This will my second pair of Wolverines. The last pair I had lasted 2 years, yardwork, construction projects. The new pair needs to be broken in a bit but I think that will happen fairly quickly. These ran a bit large. I ordered an 8 1/2 regular, and I had to return for an 8. Even those seem a bit roomy. The exchange process was easy online through Wolverine.
they were built to last, my dad burns through shoes in a matter of weeks and these have held up great so far, although very expensive considering they aren't even steel toe
These boots rock! The quality is excellent and very comfortable. Tread is aggressive and gives me confidence when working out in the yard. Great looking too! I'm not afraid to wear them kicking around town either.
I tried them on once they are still in the box they run about a size larger than they state. I wear a 12 in all of my boots that I've bought at wolverine .
My son really loves his boots. He has a 2X he has a 4E and it really hard to find but Walmart came through for me. Thank you Walmart. You're the best.
I ordered as a gift and they were just as pictured, true to size and quality I gave 5 stars because so far so good we'll see as they get more wear. As of today I would definitely buy again.
The quality and fit seems to be going down hill. Your extra wide isn't much wider than regular width. Boots could use some cushioning too. Only reason you got 4 stars is they're available in black without steel toe.
Love the boots the comfort and fit are great but dislike how I have to buy new ones every 3-4 months due to sole always coming apart on me this is the 6th pair of boots I purchased
