Have a 40-year old Ethan Allen carved 4 poster mahogany rice bed. Became our son's bed and it was jumped on, wrestling moves, etc.. Both rails finally failed. These rails work perfectly. I have a long bedspread skirt, so the color didn't need to be exact, but the espresso is exact. Highly recommend.

The previous bedrails we not standard length. They were 77 inches long . One of them broke. Bed has a 77 inch sliding drawer underneath, so I needed rails to be at least 77 inches. I went with these which are 80 inches, for an X-long twin. These rails came promptly. They are real wood. The standard hooks on these bedrails, hooked easily into my standard headboard and footboard. I then placed the slats on the bedrail support area...screwed them into place...(they were not pre-drilled holes). The whole job took me 30 minutes

Why would I recommend this item? Well, I needed bed rails for my daughter's bed. So, if you need bed rails this may be your only bet. Like many other reviewers, one of my rails has a hairline crack in the wood-which will ultimately break. I just received the item in the mail last Friday and we put them on my daughters bed today. Not for sure if they will replace it since I just took the bed rails out of the box today (so they are a week old). Luckily, I purchased the insurance on this item (thanks to many people who posted reviews before me), so hopefully they will replace the item, I will update my review with that information. So, here are thoughts. If you buy this product, TAKE OUT THE INSURANCE because I am pretty sure you are gonna have to use it to replace a rail.
