Make sure this normal, not slim sized timer, has enough space and clearance to fit onto the electrical box. Also, be sure to let the timer ”warm up” for the full two minutes after connecting so that the unit can actually be programmed. The flashing 12:00AM pre-programming signal does not appear until “it is ready”! Might save you a little stress!
Easy to install and program
works great and easy to install
Great timer switch when a neutral wire is not available. The door to the controls is pretty flimsy but once you set the schedule you shouldnt have to deal with it much. The white color is a bit brighter than other white switches and wall plates but easy to ignore. It is nice that it doesnt have any writing on it... Many of the timer switches will have the name of the manufacturer across the front. Personally I would rather not be reminded of the company that built the switch with Honeywell or GE across the front every time I look at it. Overall the switch serves its purpose and comes in at a great price. Would recommend.
Good price, good product. Not as capable as other timers I've had in the past.
Works as it should. Not hard to program. Easy to install. 4 out of 5 stars is because the lid got stuck making it difficult to open every time.
The switch I wanted to replace has only 2 black wires, no neutral or ground, so I had to return the timer. Later I learned that you could buy a pigtail wire and manually add a ground wire to the junction box. Eventually I found what I was looking for, which is Honeywell RPLS530A, it only requires 2 wires to hook it up, and the installation is fairly easy.
Great timer with easy installation....HOWEVER it stopped working after 21 months :-(. And the warranty is only 12 months. The screen went blank- I thought it may be the battery, but there is not a replaceable battery (its supposed to have a self-charging battery, which I think did work....as I never had to reset it after a power outage). I was able to get the screen back up, reprogrammed everything, but screen went blank again - and I did this exercise like five times. So...I guess its garbage now :-(.
I had an electrician install this timer and it did NOT WORK. There is absolutely no manufacturers info on the packaging to attempt to contact them. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY.
Product did not work. What attracted me to buy this timer was the fact that I did not need a neutral wire but when doing the connections it just did not work. Would recommend a troubleshooting section to fix a problem!
