This adapter is really a perfect item. Quality is the best, and it does a perfect job. This is an excellent value because you can use any kind of bulb in it, including LED. And believe me, LED are PICKY about the type of adapter they work with. Super easy to use (barely an inconvenience!) You screw this into the fixture and screw any standard bulb into it. This works with incandescent, halogen, LED, everything. AND it will save you money because if you want automatic dawn-to-dusk operation, you get this adapter and by much cheaper, simpler, NORMAL bulbs (I use $5 LED floodlights for security lighting) and that is a LOT cheaper than paying $20 per bulb for the bulbs which have built-in D2D capability. The price was excellent; the shipping is reasonable and FAST. No worries, no problems, these people deserve all the credit for a terrific product.
I tried this 2 of this product under different conditions. I tested it with an LED flashlight and a 60 watt incandescent bulb and it failed to turn off. I installed it in 3 different location, it failed to turn off in daylight (and it turned off during nighttime) with and without the "light tubes" All you really need to know is that this product comes with three different light tubes designed to stop the lamps own light from activation the switch to turn off the light.
As expected, it automatically turns our porch light on in the evening and off in the morning.
Just what I needed. Works great 👍 great price 👍
Out of the box light would cut in and out. Note in box said to insert enclosed tube around photo cell—-no tube in package. Tryed to callcustomer service —-never got a call back. Would NOT buy this control.
I put this in my coach light front over-the-door entry. Many times I forget to turn the light off when I leave the house and this device has solved that problem. The light goes off automatically so that I don't waste electricity.
I bought these because of the hours I work. I like having light on when I come home at night. And then I can still turn them off at my light switch if I like.
Compared to other similar products this one is too expensive -- especially given the quality. I installed two at my back door. One of them did not work at all. The other was marginal. Also, it took twelve days to get them. I am going to trash them both and buy another product.
We have used the Coleman photo sensor on other outside lights and did quite a bit of research to buy the exact same thing. We had tried other sensors and no others have worked. We were thrilled to find it on Walmart online as my experience with this site has always been great. Though ion blame Walmart as this order is filled by Bic warehouse you should see that items represented are not at all the same. You can see by the photo below on the left it is no where close to the same as the item pictured on the right which is what we thought we ordered. We are going to see if it works but if not we will expect a full return to be available to us.
Purchased for an outside light. Installed during the day. The light stayed on and never shut off.
