When we purchased our new home 6 years ago we consulted a Feng Shui master to go over the various spaces of the home to ensure harmony in all of the rooms. The points that she recommended were a chime (to sound in good vibes), water feature (to have good fortune to flow into home). Coincidently, since we purchased this unit we have been blessed with health and good fortune. We operate the fountain 24/7. We have replaced the motor once which was very simple to do. We use distilled water to cut down calcium deposits from clogging the motor and leaving water spots. The company that we purchased it from in Hawaii sells out of it constantly. Our friends have commented favorably and purchased a unit of their own. Recently, a visiting friend from Las Vegas wanted to purchase one for his new store.[...]
Love this! It took a little to make sure it was level on the table, water level was appropriate and pump was set up correctly, but it was worth the time. If the chimes are too loud for you, try putting tea light candles in them - adds a nice ambiance as well!!
This was such a deal! The great price [...] how could i refuse! I would buy from netshops again for sure. [...] The assembly of the fountain was pretty easy. The flow to get the bells to actually chime was a little more work but well worth the effort. I found the secret to success with this was turning the top center bell until I saw the water flow from the tube below increase on the surface of the water with slight ripples. This made the ""current"" which made the bells move clockwise. I have it in my living room right now and it is awesome! Ohhhmmmmmmmm
This fountain is the cure for stress in our increasingly busy world. I have placed it in my home study. Even a computer glitch is mitigated by the relaxing sound of the chimes and the beautiful sound of the flowing water. Luckily it is on a table by my lounge chair where I can only listen to it while working. I love to just sit and watch the two brass bells moving through the water and hitting the stationary bells causing them to chime beautifully. This fountain is a ""must have"".
It took me about 15 minutes, including unpacking, to get this put together and working. It creates a zen-like spa effect in our master bathroom, but I actually purchased it for our livingroom on the fireplace hearth and will be moving it there soon. We have gas heat and I've already experienced static in my hair and clothing. I suffer from itchy dry skin in the Winter months when the heat runs constantly. I'm hoping that placing several indoor water features throughout the house will resolve the lack of humidity in my house and eliminate any dry skin issues this Winter. This product holds sufficient water to last several days without fear of it running low. It is very calming and relaxing. I'm even wondering if a couple of candle votives could be placed in some of the bells to create a whole new relaxing experience. I will probably order another one for my basement where we spend most of our time relaxing and watching TV. I would have rated this a 5 star, but getting the right water level was a little tricky. The water level has to be right to get the ultimate chimming effect. The bell chimes are not loud or annoying in any way. They are actually calming and tranquil.
It took more adjusting than I realized to get the right water flow. The floating bells still do not hit on all of the stabilized bells. I keep playing with it. I do love it and the staff is top notch; friendly, accomodating, satisfaction guaranteed. I look forward to buying chimes for under my lemon tree. Claire
The sounds are pretty nice although sometimes it gets annoying (I'd like a lower gong sound). I can predict that it will always hit the bell next to the wire cord. And you really have to watch the water level otherwise you will smell burning motor and the floating bells cannot float over the hose. But it's very good for the price, it is very pretty, and it is very effective as white noise, which is what I bought it for.
It started out as the gift I was so excited to receive. It was beautiful and had all the qualities I was hoping for. From day one, the chimes were getting caught on the cord to the pump, which runs along the inside of the fountain. I would reposition the cord over and over, and it never solved the problem. Finally, I used a suction cup to stick the cord to the side of the bowl, and then they wouldn't catch as easily. But the suction cup only lasts so long, holding onto the side. So eventually, we'd be right back at square one. Then the floating chimes began to tip over. One of them refuses to stay afloat. As soon as I set it in the water, it tips upside down and glides around like that. I have looked for replacement chimes, but cannot find them. I have only had this fountain since the middle of February, and the floating and stationary chimes are all, already rusting, and only one stays afloat. It hardly moves around the water, though the water flow is good, and even though it goes around the chimes, it doesn't chime against them anymore. This thing has given me such a headache, it's just unbeleivable. I can't beleive my boyfriend spend over $100. for this garbage. I feel so bad for ever asking for it. All it has been is a headache. Who would have thought that such an expensive item would be so poorly made? Not me.
The floatation chimes on the first one I bought got waterlogged and sink. I have tried drying them, weighing them down, etc. They still flip and sink. I have written the manufacturer and got no response. I have contacted the seller and bought another fountain (this one works). I now have bought two, and I would like to get the faulty one working. I simply need two new floatation chimes as the ones I have are waterlogged. These do not seem to exist. I hate to be a complaining customer, and I wish the manufacturer and seller the best, but I sure would like to know how I can fix these floatation chimes or get new ones. There's no need to get another fountain. Then I will have a grand total of three because I cannot send back an entire fountain just to be junked because two floatation chimes don't work.
I was so excited to find this fountain at $75 less than what the maker asks for on his site. I looked forward to placing it on my desk, enjoying the soothing sounds of running water and ringing bells. What I got was a cheaply-made product with a loud motor, and waterlogged bells. Let me be clear: I think that this is in no way SimplyFountains.com's fault. However, the truth is that I would not buy this again, or recommend it to a friend. It is a good concept that's poorly executed at the expense of the customer.
