I have been buying these treats for over a year and very happy with the treats. One older horse and 2 older donkeys have no problem eating the treats. they really like them and ask for more.
Woody's Smart Treats® are a new favorite of both me and my horses! Most importantly, my picky Thoroughbreds love both the carrot and peppermint flavors I have tried. These treats are made in the USA with locally sourced ingredients. I also love that they are fiber-based and the first two ingredients are alfalfa and beet pulp. I will definitely be repurchasing!
I can't speak for every flavor, but my horse loves the fenugreek. He's generally pretty picky about treats (he spits out sugar, won't even touch peppermints, and is choosey about a lot of the horse treats on the market), but he always pricks his ears for these.
I have to be careful going out in the pasture when I have these in my pocket because ALL the horses notice!!!
These treats may be healthy but they are way oversized! Can't break them in half, and the ends crumble in your pocket.
While all of my horses loved the peppermint ones I bought, I have a couple of small issues. First of all, visually these treats resemble the Manna Pro apple wafers- the large size, not the nuggets. I was kinda surprised at how big they were. One of my mares tends to choke on the other treats, so I was very hesitant to give her one of these. Second, these treats do tend to crumble (and there was a good bit of powdery giblets in the bottom of the bag), so these would definitely not be "pocket" friendly. I will probably buy them again, but be selective about which ones of my guys I give them to.
These are just ridiculously large. I have to use a hammer to break them into pieces so I feel comfortable feeding them. Once small enough my horse likes them but I won't buy them again because they're just too big..
