I purchase my trimmer over two months ago and the purchase made me look like a genius. This trimmer cut clean edges, it's light weight, and it made my trimming a breeze. It's a most add product to your lawn equipment. You will definitely not regret the purchase. I actually look forward to trimming my yard now. It gives my yard a professional edging.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This tool really takes the stress off of my lower back and shoulders. After setting the wheels to roll left and right, grass trimming along the fence and around the trees is a snap. Then point the deflection shield up and the wheels mount on the side of the motor for a smooth easy roll forwards and back during edging. Again this design takes the stress out of the lower back and shoulders. What a treat not having to battle unwinding my 75' cord anymore because of the long lasting battery pack that easily handles all of the trimming!
I was needing new batteries. It was a much better deal to get a new GT Revolution 20 v. string trimmer with two batteries. We are talking real power here now. Longer handle, easy adjust trimmer head and spool holder are GREAT!! Leaving the wheels on the bottom when trimming keeps you from bottoming out and less arm fatigue from hold the trimmer up off the ground. The 18 v and 20 v batteries are interchangeable, so even though my old batteries don't stay charged as long as they use to; I got plenty of back-up power when I need it. I have great looking well manicured one acre yard.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Bad: I would rate the edger at a 2. It cut the grass vertically but I wouldn't call it "edged". Fell short of being as advertised. Okay: Battery lasted through edging but RPM slowed when down to one bar. Used 2nd battery for trimming. Good: Clever design.
I used this for the first time yesterday and was very disappointed for the following reason. When trying to use as a Mini-Mower the handle would not stay in position. It kept collapsing at the bottom even though it was in the lock position. Otherwise it worked very well. Trims well and the string is sturdy. No stopping to reload the string like most trimmers. Haven't tried the Edger yet.
Basically it's a string trimmer with a wheel which, if it stayed on, would make it easy to trim around flower beds and edge the patio. But it does serve a purpose in that I can get into tight areas with it. But I can't edge.
The battery only last for 15 minutes each. It takes 3 to 4 hours for them to charge. It took us 4 days to trim around the house. It works very well when it works. But it is time consuming waiting for the battery to charge. Is there a gas product?
Overall, the GT Revolution is a good product. Easy to handle, cuts small to medium weeds easily. The redesign of the GT Revolution is good from the previous version but the string advance is misleading. The unit will self-feed the string when I read the description, I believed it was a manual feeding unit. I have issues with self-feeding and when I stop the unit to move to new location, when it starts, it feeds a new piece of string. It doesn't take long to use up a spool of string. A manual feed weed eater would make it a great product.
I own a lot of Worx tools and love them, but I am very disappointed with the locking of the wheels for trimming at one level. It makes no difference where you set it and lock it in place, it always falls and the wheels end up in a position I don't want.
Ive gone through 3 spools of twine very fast, the power of the unit is not sufficient for thick types of grass
