Liked the Worx so much we purchased a second WG170 Trimmer and Edger! Extremely light weight and easy to use. We have one set-up for trimming and the other set-up for edging. Batteries last 20 to 30 minutes which is great for a small yard. Lifetime string spools is a plus! Easily adjustable. The only item that could be improved is the string cutter blade... Not very durable. Had to order a replacement guard to replace the cutting blade as it had broken off at some point during use. Would highly recommend!
At 77 years old my Stihl weed eater which works great was getting too heavy. I tried theGT Revolution not expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised. At way less than half the weight of my gas model it actually works just as good and I can trim my whole yard without stopping to rest. Especially great is the string advance button. Give it a try.
My first one lasted 5 years before if broke at the adjustable grip. This new one looks a little more solid. Worked well for me and the free string is great. Give me another 5.
This is my second WORX TRIMMER, still using my original WORX that's over 10 years old. Great at getting my half acre clear of weeds to ground ( my dogs have allergies to weeds). At 69 yrs old, 85lbs, this is so lightweight, I can operate 4-5 hours with a 15 minute break. I have four large batteries, 3 small. With that can do 8 hour days . Which I have also accomplished. Very little maintenance required. Even does well after heavy rain. I use toothbrush to clean dirt, dust, etc…easy to change spool. My hands are small, so auto feed of line a bit of stretch, keeping operating button pressed, trigger, and pressing auto feed button, the only thing I wish they would find a way to make that process easier, as my weeds in gravel also, so line breaks more often…
I love ALL of my WORX products. The string trimmer works very well and makes easy work of cleaning up my yard. I have been using WORX for the past 10 years and it is the best on the market. I love that the batteries are interchangeable so I always have one ready when needed. I have no interest in any other battery operated product. Can't wait to see what they come out with next.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I owned a previous model (similar but purchased over 10 years ago) I loved it so much that after beating it up for over 10 years I decided to buy a new one that has a few more perks like spare spool holder and wheels that convert it no only to an edger like the old one but also to a mini lawnmower for some smaller spaces that my riding mower can't get to. So far loving it as good as the old one if not a bit more:) If it lasts as long as the previous one I will be ecstatic.
Worx sells the best yard tools money can buy. The Power Share 12-inch string trimmer has power to spare and is always reliable. The advancement in the string makes any job doable. I really enjoy the auto feed string. Easy to store with the adjustments to the shaft and handle. Worx is always the intelligent purchase.
Unit is well made but lacks in power in high weeds especially goldenrod. Lacks the power for tough jobs but works well for light backyard trimming. Battery run time is just so-so...extra batteries and charger are an absolute must. 15-20 minutes of full power cutting then it just twists the grass. Trimmer line with the unit is not the greatest.
Great price - two tools for the price of one. Putting it together was tough. The instructions were unclear. Older people may not have the strength converting from edger to weed eater. Also, having to hold my foot on head to put it together was just a bad design. The angle for pushing the edger could be better. It is light.
As my prior “weapon” For trimming and edging became outdated and eventually quit, I finally used this product. The auto feed was helpful. Particular is now on or near the handle. Still getting used to the detachable wheels, as they did detach a few times during usage. Still looking for an easier way to turn the head of the device from the handle. The improved motor cut through edging that had grown out like a sharp knive cutting through hot butter. That was exciting. I enjoyed the edging part enough that I did my yard as well as my neighbors yard. That's two neighbors yards :-) Looking forward to finally seeing how the “mower” feature works. The trimming component is fast and furious. We'll see how the second usage compares.
