I use the pants for hiking, camping or just as an everyday pants. The pants are wind proof, water resistant (water beads right off) they are very lightweight and comfortable. The only negative is I would prefer cargo pockets on both legs but other than that I really like the pants

I looked a long time for reliable, inexpensive, well-fitting travel/hiking pants that have strong technical features but don't have too much of a "technical look." By that I mean I didn't want big flapped cargo pockets, zip-off legs, or logos all over the pants. I need pants I can wear for gardening or a strenuous hike but also pack for travel and wear out on vacation without standing out or looking too baggy. They need to have a little stretch, and be quick dry for hand-washing on the road. These Wrangler ATG pants fit the bill. They dry quickly, have a good look to them, and have been highly functional. The one zipper pocket is the only thing that screams "utility pants," but the zipper is relatively hidden and doesn't stand out too much when it's zipped. I rarely use that pocket but it's functional -- it will hold a phone close to your thigh without dangling down to the knee (that would be a deal breaker). The other pockets are open -- no zippers or fasteners -- but the front pockets are fairly tight and stretchy and I usually keep my phone in there. The pants aren't perfect. I'd like a slightly narrower waistband (the waist flairs a little), and slightly lower rise to the waist. That would be more flattering. These ATGs come in very specific sizes/lengths, so you should be able to find a fit that works for you. Don't order too big of a size. I'm 5' 9 1/2" tall and weigh 165 pounds, with a 32-33" waist and 31" inseam. I ordered the 32"W/30"L and the fit was pretty good across the board -- just a little big in the waist due to the stretch fabric. It was the right size for me. Not loose. Just stretchy. They hold up fine without a belt, but you wouldn't want to tuck in a shirt without a belt because of the stretchiness of the waist. I own them in black and blue as well as "morel" and "bungee cord". The last two are almost identical. I'm not a fan of the blue, but the black ones dress up nicely when traveling.
Pants fit great and are very comfortable. Can be worn for working in the yard or for a day at the office.
A little loose, and that is okay; if a smaller waist was ordered it may have been too tight and not able to accommodate slight fluctuation in weight. Very light and comfortable
I typically would use these for outdoor adventure activities (hiking, summer range days). stronger than some cheaper versions, but lighter than some other outdoor companies and less expensive. water resistant (not proof). id actually say comfortably slim fit, i dont like bulky hanging pant that interferes with activities but also not wearing skinny jeans if you get my drift. only worn around town so far first time getting some this year and due to pandemic, haven't made hiking trips yet.

I wear this product at work in the office as well in the woods. With at least 3 uses a week the pants have started to develop the little fuzzballs in the crotch area. While I love the gusseted crotch you need a better material in this area. Also, reinforce the knees. Possibly DWR treatment as well.
I have yet to try the caviar pair without the tags, but if I did a return and got the 30/30 size, I might be squeezing into them with any slight weight gain, so I'll likely keep them. The forest night pair is a little loose, but all the other features outweigh that The durability and quality of manufacture remain to be ascertained.
