The handle was a nice matte finish in a grey color. Quality was good and it fit together well. I like the fact that it came with various size screws and strike plates (including shims) to make it adjustable for your specific door. Installation was quite easy with the given instructions. Like others have said, the directions for determining the length of the spindle (rod that activates the mechanism) results in the spindle being a bit too long, I ended up cutting it one notch shorter than originally indicated and it worked fine. I found it easy to cut with a pair of side cutters (linesman's pliers). I would suggest you hold the assembly together and test the length of the spindle before screwing everything together, and if it is too long, shorten it one notch at a time so as not to get it too short.

I needed to replace my old one and everything seemed to match up but I can only imagine each screen door is a little different and even though these guys seem to have everything you could need in the package, I still had to do some filing on the clasp. Regardless they can't be responsible for custom screen doors and the kit was very easy to install so, good stuff!

I loved this product because it's easy to install and with proper tools would've took me maybe five or so minutes to install. The spindle needs to be snapped and the instructions said to use pliers I tried using them I recommend using a saw as the spindle is a thick metal. Without it snapping easily I had to resort to knives and oil which took an hour. As for the materials they're very durable and have a nice black finish and made of metal

I bought this as a replacement for a broken one. I felt lucky that I did not have to drill new holes to install it, even though it was a different style than the original. It came with shims which I did need to get the latch to work. I am very satisfied.

This is just great, except for two things: 1) be very careful about clipping the length of the inside rod or you'll need to buy another, and 2) I find now that I've installed this I prefer the one where the whole handle pulls, rather than just the thumb-button. BUT, it's a sturdy handle and should last the life if your door,.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this assembly, because the advertisement states that it fits doors from 1" to 1 1/4" thick, and my door is slightly less than 1". Well, not only did it fit, but the instructions in the package state that it's made to fit doors from 3/4" to 1 1/4" thick! Instructions are easy to follow, and contain diagrams as well. As some others have said, the measurement given for cutting the long metal shaft is not accurate, but it just meant breaking off the shaft an additional notch (better than if it stated to cut it too short LOL). I ended up using my old handmade striker plate because it protrudes from the door frame more than the one in the kit, but that might just be my door setup. My only wish is that the swiveling striker portion was metal instead of heavy plastic. It might not be an issue, but with heavy winds, I'm hoping that the plastic piece will hold up and keep the door from whipping open. The rest of the assembly is metal, including the handle and push button. I just installed it, and overall I'm satisfied with the product, and it works like it should.

I just finished installing this product to replace the handle that broke on my storm door. It seems to be a great replacement however there were a couple issues I wanted to let others know about when installing.< br>< br>1) The screw holes in the handle parts have paint in them which can make it very difficult to get the screws in without stripping them. I recommend trying to clean out the holes before attempting to do so. I did this by just manually turning the screws before I started my install. Using an electric drill might result in stripping the screws so do so by hand. This will make it easier to install screws when you try to put on handle.< br>< br>2) The instructions say you need to break the metal spindle to be the proper length based on the width of your door. The instructions are very clear on how to do so. I followed the directions and broke the spindle down to size using pliers. However when I tried to install the handle, I realized it would not work because the spindle was way too long. I remeasured and tried again. Still too long. Luckily I saved my old parts and compared the previous spindle. The old one was about 3/4 of an inch shorter. I used my old spindle and installed the new handle. It works perfectly. So I am not sure if the directions are wrong but the length it told me to use for the spindle was way off.

After I opened the package to begin installation, I discovered that a screw required for installing the catch was missing. There should have been two of the same size and length, but only one was included.< br>< br>The instructions should also include a parts list.< br>< br>Otherwise, this product appears to be well made and straightforward to install.

It is exactly as advertised. I bought the aluminum one, it looks great. The installation was made more difficult because the spindle was way too long. I tried to shorten in following the directions, and I'm not strong enough to do it. Finally used the old spindle. It works fine

I wonder if only one company in the world is making these latches. I ordered online because I wanted this style, but it is the exact same brand I found searching local hardware stores. It might be the same brand I bought before six years ago that I'm replacing, so I hope it lasts longer.
