We love it! The absolute perfect answer to an affordable outdoor camera. The quality is beyond expectations and the picture is crisp clear. The battery has held up to the time advertised and I still haven't had to charge mine since we put them up 2+ months ago. We are a huge fan of Wyze products!!
This camera has exceeded my expectations. The camera seems to be lasting well dropping at about 1% every 24 hours with motion and alerts. Definitely need to spend time perfecting the sensitivity range and angle before leaving it alone for good. I wish it had some way to index the mount so you could return it to the same spot after charging. Perfect for keeping an eye on packages and the curious neighbor looking at the yard. Only con is the need to have the booster hardwired to ethernet. I've got a larger home and I'd need to have a separate booster for the camera on the back of the house. This is going to require a second router.
This is a great outdoor cam. I have used it for 48 days with 25 % battery remaining today. Realistically, it may last me two months before I need to recharge it as i spent a good amount of time doing all the adjustments. The biggest disappointment is there is a big down time when you have to remove the unit and charge it. It would be nice it can be like Arlo that a second batch of rechargeable batteries always ready and the down time is only couple mins.
The camera works well and here in the beginning, the battery life is good. Couple issues though, the detection area cannot be customized like the V2 which is leading to too many recording events since I can't block out the adjacent street. Also, I can't restrict notifications to only person detection, so I'm getting a lot of notifications. I have the sensitivity and distance set very low, but it is still not enough to restrict the events im seeing.
Good for the price but long way to go. The camera do not always capture the events/motions/person. When it does, it is late. For example: It will not capture/identify the person walking to the door but will capture walking away from the door. So you always see the back of the person. If we think this is based on distance, that logic do not work always. If I am getting out of the house (nearest the the camera), the camera will recognize the motion when I am almost walked away from the frame. It will capture last 1-1.5s of my walk. Which is useless. Few days we will go without any notifications even when we have entered/exited the house.
The picture quality is very impressive for 1080p. I've caught my neighbor letting their dog drop bombs in my lawn right by my doorstep and someone else killing my sidewalk weeds for me. But I have 3 main issues: 1. I'll have someone (ex: mail person) walk up my driveway and the camera doesn't start recording until they are 1 frame away from walking out of view. 2. -Then you have the minute cool down, so it doesn't even pick them up on their way out either. 3. Then there's the notification delay, even after the update; it went from up to 40 minutes to now up to a couple of minutes. (Side note. That's with the sensitivity/range maxed out. I'd rather have false activations rather than completely missing someone/something)
Initially I thought it was a great value but since I posted mine near the front door of my house the resolution doesn't look that clear. I hope it is just an issue of my specific camera. I would like to purchase another Outdoor camera if the resolution of the camera is as good as it is supposed to be on all the outdoor cameras. I own 3 indoor and 1 outdoor camera by the way.
- Poor connection to wi-fi hub inside even though it's not too far away and is mounted high up. - Battery doesn't last nearly as long as estimated even when not recording. - Detection area on app not working for this camera. - Motion of people coming near camera not showing up in Events 4 out of 5 times even with Camera Plus. - No Playback feature like Cam v2 and Pan is biggest disappointment cos I expect Outdoor Cam functions to have the same or more features. Since there's no Playback option, continuous recording is needed to be scheduled on microsd which then drains the battery within days. For an outdoor camera, Playback is needed to review what went on outside like the front porch in case of mail theft. Also, WYZE, please make TIMELAPSE OF ENTIRE DAY an option to turn on (or off) to record on microsd FOR ALL CAMERAS where recording is one default predetermined interval setting (entire day's time-lapse on a 40-60 second video). This helps review previous days at super fast speeds when looking for specific events such as for porch pirates. When event is quickly found thru time-lapse, I can view Playback (on cameras that have Playback) in normal speed at approximate date and time indicated in the time lapse. I think this is a crucial time saving feature especially for Outdoor cameras but great for all cameras. These functions are essential even without cloud service cos people dont sit to watch a live stream all day long to look for events, and some motion/sound events are not even being identified or flagged in Events.
Takes ALOT of internet to run the camera, also it's hit and miss if it will show a picture.. I've unplugged the one I installed and have never hooked up the second one. Am a firm believer in the other cameras but this one still needs some work. Thanks!!
Should allow you to record to the micro SD card when it senses motion or when you set specific times to record not just when you manually click record. it should be like all your other cameras ( plug in models) and not have just a 12 second video clip. Also Wi-Fi range is very weak on these cameras. I'll stick with the indoor ones and put them under my eaves for outside use. Glad I didn't buy the dozen of them I was planning on. All your other products I highly recommend all the time and I will continue to buy. I just had higher hopes for this outdoor one. Maybe make the outdoor one a plug-in oneWith the same features as your indoor ones.
