Happy with what I got for the price. It allows for many different installation configurations with the long cable. You can wind up the excess cable behind the panel with the clips on the back. It charged one my cameras from 40% to 100% over the course of two days with a lot of sunlight. Overall, it's a great pairing for your outdoor battery powered camera.
Bought this for the Wyze Birdhouse. I have a Cam Outdoor in the birdhouse and the solar panel keeps the cam powered very well. On it's first day the cam was about 22% and even though it was overcast all day it managed to charge the cam. With the sun out it, the panel easily brings the cam up to 100% and keeps it there.
Very easy to install. Took me maybe fifteen minutes until it was up and charging. Well built with plenty of adjustment. Only thing I can think of to make it better would be to add another extension with a ball joint for more adjustment. I mounted mine on the west side of my house and can only get it flush with the roof. One more joint and it would be above the roof where I can turn it more.
The hardest part of installation was picking a place to mount it. Once mounted, it was easy to hook up, just a matter of running one cable to the camera and plugging it in to the camera. Works well, keeping my camera battery fully charged, even on cloudy days. This was the best purchase I have made in a very long time!
I wasn't able to hang the solar panel in a spot that received direct sun and worried it might not be enough to keep the charge going. But since setting up the solar panel, the camera has stayed steady between 98%-99% charge for over 2 weeks now. I did fully charge the camera before connecting it and am very happy with the results so far.
I live in a South facing home which allows the solar panel to grab sunlight for a full charge in the summer. It was very easy to install and has plenty of cable to reach for best exposure. I have had this product for about 3 months now and works great! As we get into the fall and winter, I hope the daylight is enough to keep the charge. I will review again in the following months.
So far the solar panel works well enough to keep my cameras topped up. Theyre a bit pricey compared to the cameras and brings the total cost up a fair bit. I wish these had batteries built in so they could power *any* wyze cam, not just the battery cam.
I purchased two, should have gotten three for my outside cameras but didn't. The one up front keeps the camera charged at 55% all the time, the one in the rear keeps the camera charged at 100% all the time. Weird, front get's more sunshine and I live in Texas with plenty of that.
I bought the bird feeder with solar panel and Battery Cam Pro April 2025 for my wife for her birthday. She loves it! However, since then I've had to replace the magnifier band and connecting cable due to squirrel damage. That's not the problem though. The main problem is the solar panel, even through following cleaning maintenance instructions, just does not power the camera anymore as it should. Granted, when it's charged at 100%, it will last a while, but over the last few months, on the brightest days, the charging percentage just does not increase. It's currently at 10% and still dropping. Not sure what else to do.
I apologize for the rating but I didn't realize cuz I didn't read all the like instructions I guess but they don't work for but only two cameras which kind of sucks but still nice idea and I love the company so sorry
