I have to say that I love the wyze switch almost as much as I love the cameras it has to be one of the best products wyze produces. There are so many ways to use it it's not even funny.
This is a great remote light switch, Price is exceptional and the installation was quick and easy. I have other Wyze products so the integration to the app I already use was a major plus.
This was a dream come true when I was able to finally order some. I have 3 switches for outside lights in 3 locations around my house. Whats easier than setting a timer for them to come on and off
Good, straight forward installation instructions. It needs a neutral wire. The biggest challenge, as noted elsewhere, is getting it and the wiring back into the wall box. Works exactly as advertised. It works well with the Wyze bulbs in my overhead fixture. That's an advantage over the much-more-expensive Hue bulbs. Very happy.
I'm so impressed by the functionality of this switch. Compare it to others on the market and it's a definite win! I've only had 2 of them installed for a couple of weeks not but I was so impressed I bought 7 more. The integration into Google Home makes it a no brainer. I actually installed it in place of a standard light switch on my gutter heaters so I can turn it on even when I'm not home. Yes it controls lights but also anything else that you can put on a switch. I highly recommend it.
I love the functionality of the product, and it comes exactly as described. These are truly necessary for anyone who has gone all in with Wyze bulbs and still have dumb switches. With every bulb having been replaced, I like the ability to control on/off from app, or change colors. Even in bathrooms I like to leave switches on for this control. This is confusing to guests. Also, the delay (which is my only problem in comparison to Hue bulbs) using a dumb switch when power is off and turned on - many times guests will toggle switches three times and put my bulbs into pairing mode again. This helps alleviate that. I wish there was a native solution for three way switches, whether it be the ability to just add another one of these and work in harmony, a Wyze branded solution to have a fake wall switch that simply just has always on power, or whatever else may exist. Yes, I realize there solutions to the problem, but I would like a Wyze branded system to keep the ecosystem of products one and the same. I will update my review or add further commentary as I continue to utilize and think of improvements and where they may exist.
Excellent quality, amazing look, and works great. However, 4 stars because. 1. Size needs to be trimmed down, it's difficult to push in single switch box. 2. Wyze need to come up with multiple options, multiple point switches and dimmer to complete the upgrade.
Wire connection screws are very tight, should be little loose or it should have easy connector. Also back of switch is bulky, difficult to fit inside box with lots of wires. Provided single faceplate is good option if switch is alone and not with other switches otherwise aligning is difficult. As a technical person, I love trigger and scheduling with this switch.
I just purchased three Wyze switches to control the outdoor lights around my house. Previously, I was using Kasa (TPLink) switches, but I wanted to convert to Wyze so that I could limit the number of apps used to control smart devices used in my household. I have had very good luck with Wyze cameras, bulbs, and plugs, so I figured the switches would be great as well. The operation of the switches went as expected - all good there. But, I have to tell you, I am disappointed in the design of the Wyze rocker switch. I had to remove the switch box from the face plate of each of the switches in order to add them to multi-gang switch boxes (all single pole). This is where the bad rocker switch design issues show up.... First, all of the connections were are directly into the switch box (e.g. no factory wires from the device that would be joined to the existing house wiring with a wire nut). This made the installation a little difficult if the house wiring was a bit short. But, I understand that this design also saves room in the switch box, so no real issue - just more of an inconvenience. Second, and most frustrating, was the design of the rocker switch itself. Other wifi switches I have used have a raised ridge around the rocker switch. The Wyze switch does not have this raised ridge. As a result, the Wyze rocker switch can easily bind against the switch plate cover if the switch is not perfectly aligned within the electrical box and thus, the switch plate. I was able to get them to work, but it was a time consuming process because you have to tighten the switches in the electrical box so they do not move at all. If the rocker switch had a ridge around it, this would not be an issue. Using these for single switches would be an easy install, but if you are placing them into a multi-gang switch box, then be prepared for some extra work to make sure they are aligned properly and do not bind on the switch plate.
Trying to install one of these with a six set of solid core Romex wire. The problem was while installing, the contacts where you screw in the wires, broke off. Looking into the housing, there is no harness to keep the contacts in place. They are only supported by the soldered joints. If there was a bracket, or harness, or something behind the contract keeping it in place, this wouldn't have happened as something would have supported it. The soldered joints should not be the ONLY thing keeping these in place.
