Great doorbell replacement option if your replacing a hard wired door bell. No reoccurring charges unless you want Cam plus. I'd recommend it but wyze is great because they don't strong arm you into subscription fees.
I chose this doorbell, the OG, over getting the more expensive Pro. I like it! It looks nice, lights up when triggered, & easy install! I bought an add'l chime for upstairs & it all works seamlessly.
Very happy good service group good quality good product
No way to continuously record. Cam+ gets most but still misses recording sometimes. I am very pleased with my doorbell but do wish I could have a recording option. I have 10 cameras and All of them have an SD card in them for playback when cam+ doesn't get what I want. Would like the same option for the doorbell.
Nice product, easy to install and provides good video and communication with the visitor. Would be nice if it also provided a notification of visitors when I'm not at home.
The doorbell is great, not as good as Ring because you can't go back in time. You can only review events that have been caught. Also only the primary account holder gets notifications. So my wife doesn't get notifications on her phone when someone's at the door until the doorbell is pressed.
The camera works well, but when I add the chime it works initially but then stops and gives a message that something is wrong with the network. But the camera still sends alerts and images, so my suspicion is that it is the Wyze software.
This version has MUCH lower resolution than the Doorbell 2. I bought it because the current DB 2 did not come with a chime. Instead, DB2 is being marketed with a house chime controller. The problem is that I need a chime for my office that is NO WHERE NEAR the doorbell chime. The Ring Doorbell does come with a chime. I have NO IDEA why the marketing geniuses think that taking a HUGH step back by not offering a chime with DB 2 makes sense. After looking at the resolution of this thing for a day, we sent it back. Now I'm stuck with my DB 2 and have to rely on my phone to alert me if someone comes to the door.
For the price, it's not terrible, but no way to flash for Home Assistant and very clunky interface, dropped detections under the same conditions, it's honestly the worst offering from Wyze I've ever purchased. Easy to install and use, but I HATE being tied to use another app for something when it should be very easy to reflash ESPHome or Tasmota and make it integrate with Home Assistant... Get with the times Wyze! I also get the money isn't in the device, but in the subscription, but I couldn't justify spending money every month on something which is working spotty at best.
Honestly, this one was a miss for me. The video quality is so bad in low light that it is almost unusable. That combined with the inability to record 24/7 makes this a worse option than just putting a v3 or OG cam on your porch and sticking with the normal doorbell. Maybe the pro is better, but for the price I'd probably pass.
