Sharp, Stylish, and a Great Everyday Knife Set I'm really impressed with this knife set! Right out of the box, the knives were very sharp and feel comfortable and sturdy in your hand. They make everyday food prep so much easier, whether I'm chopping vegetables, slicing meat, cutting fruit, or preparing a quick meal. I also really like the black design. It has a sleek, modern look and the knife block keeps everything organized without taking up a ton of counter space. The variety of knives included covers the everyday basics, so I don't find myself reaching for other knives while cooking. For the price, I think this set is a great value. It looks much more expensive sitting on the counter than I expected, and so far the knives have performed really well. I would definitely recommend this set for everyday cooking, a first apartment, or even as a practical housewarming gift. Pros: Sharp right out of the box, comfortable to hold, attractive design, useful variety, and convenient storage.

This knife set is made in China, but from research, I find that the “high carbon German stainless steel" refers to either the source of the steel, or the composition meeting certain standards. This is a very nice set. They're not as heavy as my old knives, but on the other hand, they're a lot easier to handle now that I'm older. The handles are resin, weighted, with enough bulk to be easy to grasp with arthritic hands. Wish they were not quite so slick. The balance is good. The blades appear to be black steel(?), with the sharpened edges being shiny. There's a sharpener in the block that looks appropriate to handle minor sharpening tasks. The little kitchen shears have a feature I have missed for a long time, a rounded gripper between the handles for opening bottles.  There are five razor sharp knives in the set and a handy (also sharp) little pair of kitchen shears. The paring knives and carving knives worked well on several food items, including raw meat. The bread knife easily sliced crusty sourdough bread. The block is resin, decorated to look like black marble with gold veins. It's heavy enough to allow the knives to be drawn and returned easily. Although I wish it was tilted, it's going to work just fine in my kitchen. The price is very good for the quality of these knives. Costs less than lunch for two at McDonald's! They are marked as dishwasher safe but I would never put a good knife in a dishwasher. Although I have no way of knowing how they will last, I expect they're going to be serviceable for a long time. Definitely recommend this set.

knives are extremely sharp and made of good quality steel...great variety of styles for any need. .built in sharpener..the only drawback is the cheap quality of the storage block..such a contrast to the quality of the knives and the shiny black with gold swirl is tacky and reminiscent of the black lacquered faze of the 1980's.

So this is a nice basic knife set for the kitchen. It doesn't have steak knives included so if you are looking for a complete knife set with steak knives this might not be for you. The base for the knives is interesting because it's essentially hollow but looks like it might have some weight to it. I do like that there is a sharpener right on the block and the knives are well made.

These are actually incredibly decent for the price. I love that there was a sharpener included with the knife block. I don't know how well the blades will hold up over time, so the sharpener is great to have. I'm not going to say they're up to par with expensive chef's knives, but for the price, I think they're fantastic—especially as a gift or a starter set for somebody.

This entire set feels cheap from the handles of the knives down to the storage box they're housed in. Yes, they're sharp as are all knives when you first get them but they dull down quickly. Still, for $20 they're good for what they are but don't expect them to last long.

cheap knives and a plastic block. arrived with scraches in the plastic. you can tell immediately that these are gonna be dull after cutting 1 vegetable.
