As a youth I loved Sony World Band radios. Sony was king of shortwave. Along with Panasonic, Grundig,Sangean and others. Now we have XHDATA. I have several XHDATA radios, but the 808 is the gem of the line. I love this radio and recommend it highly. Travel the world with The Hope Diamond of World Band Radios. A

This is a great, affordable shortwave radio. The programming instructions are clear and easy to understand and the battery life is excellent.
Good compact radio with excellent suite of capabilities.
Small size but not micro. Somewhat complex learning curve but worth it. Works great on local FM, and outside would do SW with wire antenna. I like the fact that you could rig a long wire for SSB and Ham Radio emergency freq. Battery Life so far seems good. Would like to have a lighted keypad..

Better than most at SW reception with its telescoping antenna. I get good air band reception. AM %26 FM are acceptable. SSB is on a par with Tecsun PL-330 and PL-368, but a bit fiddly to adjust. I am happy with this radio.
No weather channels, terrible reception on SW and Air. Does not bring in one station Tunning stations is annoying. No better than a much less expensive radio I bought 5 years ago and that radio has weather channels and works fine Not worth the money Not a professional radio that I would take on a camping trip or mountain climbing. Only good clear reception is FM Therefore, no need for so many station set buttons Will keep it as a spare but still need a quality radio with all features plus weather. Poorly written instructions
