The information displayed is easy to see. Clock wasn't hard to set up. The items that lowered the rating are display on/off %26 dimming buttons on the remote. These are excellent ideas but lacking in functionality. The on/off display button effectively turns power to the clock off %26 relies on the batteries to keep clock settings in memory for short periods of time with display off until it is turned back on before battery power is depleted. While in the display off mode, the clock slowely looses tract of correct time in just a few hours even though the clock is still plugged into active power. So there's still a need to manually reset the time.
The dimming button is a big disappointment too. There is a main sliding selector that puts the display in bright, auto, or dim ranges. However the 3 settings in each mode provide a minimal difference especially in the dimming range. 3 additional dimming levels may fix that issue.
In my opinion when the clock is plugged into an active outlet, there shouldn't be any drain on the batteries. The battery power should only be used during power outage or if its necessary to unplug clock to relocate it. Additionally the battery bank could benefit from additional batteries as there is plenty of room available in that compartment. For this reason I wouldn't recommend this clock for residential use.
