Xspec 26" 21 Speed Folding Mountain Bike Bicycle Trail Commuter, Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had considered purchasing a foldable bicycle, but they were far too expensive. I just happened to take a look at this website (jet.com) and found what I was looking for. The assembly was minor although I had to go online for clear instructions.

This is not a lightweight, super mountain bike. What it is, is a stout bike that folds up easily for transport in a trunk or the back of SUV. And arrives clean, versus arriving filthy after riding on a car. The seat may need to be adjusted up or down to fold up, but that's not a big deal. I would have given it 5 stars if it came with assembly instructions. What is provided, is generic, marginal, and almost useless.

Overall very well thought of, solid frame doesn't wobble, pedals fold flat, sprocket protect/stand , very tedious put together, lots parts, brakes need to be properly adjusted, average street riding is good for me, not recommended hard core off road

First of all, nice bike once I got it put together. OMG!! instructions and assembly, what a challenge. The instructions are not specific enough to complete the assembly. You must have some bike building knowledge, and I still had to look it up on Youtube.

Good thing there is an assembly video, as the included instructions aren't very good. Plus I ordered a seven speed and got a twenty one, I'm 72 years old and will never use all those speeds.

It was missing 2 bearings that is why we couldn't get it to run yet. Otherwise, everything looks good

Assembling the bike was a pain. Had to watch a video on how to put the bike together to make sure everything is correct. I had to take it to a bike shop afterwards because I was unable to shift into different gears and found out while there that the rear derailer was bent. My local bike shop said they see a lot of these bikes with the same issue. You would think they would do a better job of packaging and quality control on the parts they prebuild for you. Other than the minor annoyances the bike is great and fun to ride.

Well…arrived sealed in carton. However, whoever manufactured %26 packed it NEGLECTED to enclose ALL the necessary fasteners %26 some damaged brackets. Looks like they swept up whatever was on the floor and shipped it. Had to fabricate some parts %26 purchase some necessary screws OF THE CORRECT SIZE AND LENGTH.

I bought this bike and it was ok. The folding part was great but overal it wasnt a good bike for me, it felt to bunched together and the derailer came bent. If you do buy it make sure to have dremel to cut the brake cable. i did end up returning it which was a pain so make sure to keep the box or you have to find a new one big enough for a bike.

Missing front fender bracket. X spec is giving me the runaround over a couple dollar part that should have came with the bike. Not Happy at all
