XTERRA Fitness ERG700 Exercise Rower

This product was everything my husband and I wanted in a rowing machine. It arrived packed secure, marked by number how to assemble and we were up and rowing in about 40 minutes. The machine is attractive, sturdy and well built. It is very quiet and sounds like a small fan when tension is applied. It has good resistance and we like the easy reading and simplicity of the monitor. My husband is as happy as I am with our purchase. We saved a lot of money by buying this product at Walmart.

I researched rowing machines over a period of 2-months and finally decided on the ERG 700. This was due to the warranty (lifetime frame, 5-years parts, and 1-year labor)

easy to put together and very smooth action . the size of it , the smoothness of it. I got it on sale and its just a good exercise that my joints can handle

I love this machine. I wanted a concept 2 but they were not in production because of the Covid pandemic. But, this rower lives up to it's good ratings. I only give 4 stars because the monitor times out in the middle of my workout if I pause to do other exercises in between. There may be a way to change that in settings. Otherwise the machine is quiet, smooth and high quality.

simple to install, just screw some bolts and nuts in places, BUT not very easy, you have to do it in a lot of places and they are hard to get to, but overall its worth it.

Used it less than a week when the resistance went away mid stroke and about fell off the back of the machine. Same thing happened 3-4 times over the next 15-20 minutes. Called the service number and was told to email all of the information about the purchase, since the warranty card I mailed in did not go to them. Waiting for service to identify the problem. Was told it may be weeks or longer, depending on which parts are needed and if they have them in stock. If it was not already assembled in my basement, I would return it and buy a more reputable brand.

I purchased this rower and later discovered a frame issue with the machine that I reported to Xterra's parent company, Spirit Fitness, through the warranty process. Long story short, I have spent two months attempting to get the issue resolved including two separate visits from a repair technician and approximately 15 hours on the phone with customer service trying to get updates and assistance. I am still without a working rower, although I was just recently able to confirm they have finally shipped the replacement machine they promised would be shipped nearly two weeks ago. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing equipment from either Xterra or Spirit in the future. It is a smooth, comfortable machine to use if it has no issues. If there is any issue, prepare for weeks and weeks of frustration. The technician that came out to repair it said these rowers are very difficult to repair and he hates working on them. I bought this because I could get it immediately as opposed to a 6 week wait for a Concept2. I should have just waited the 6 weeks.

the handle broke immediately. very poor quality. i tried to live it but then i returned it i would recommend paying more and getting the concept2
