I watched the introductory video online for a long time before I decided to buy this scanner because it was my first scanner tool. I've had problems with transmissions slipping and the free scanner at the auto parts shop wouldn't show transmission, airbag or ABS codes. This tool solved all the problems. It paid for itself right away.
I'm in the mobile mechanic business and what I need is a tablet that can read various vehicle codes, reset sensors and send reports via email. I also needed a product that wouldn't break the bank like the big brands. It didn't disappoint, I was able to get detailed reports and the results were very responsive. In addition, it offers 3 years of updates! I highly recommend it .
This is by far the best thing about the device. Both the used cars my wife and I bought had only one key. My wife's car has a one key start. The dealer wanted $300 for a new key and programming. I bought an aftermarket key and programmed it myself. Worked very well. My truck is keyed with a chip and I only have one key. I bought a two pack of keys, had them fitted at the local hardware shop and programmed them with Xtool D7. The airbag light came on in my wife's car. the Xtool D7 helped me find a way to fix it. I was sure the passenger weight sensor was bad. Using this tool saved me a ton of money. I highly recommend it to anyone doing DIY car repairs.
I took my car to a local garage and spent over $400 on diagnostics and repairs. But just a month later, the same problem came back, and this time I didn't trust the repairman to fix the problem completely, so I bought this diagnostic scanner. It's great to have a professional tool that can troubleshoot in plain English and always gives a starting point on how to fix the problem. It works great and I am very happy with this purchase.
This scanner is not cheap, but it meets my needs in that it regularly monitors the working condition of the tyres (which is very important to ensure safety), performs a relearn function on the TMPS sensors (which is very much needed after replacing the tyres), and has other useful functions for the regular repair of the various car safety systems. In my opinion, this is an excellent diagnostic tool.
Haven't used much. Seems to be a very capable scanner. Like that it does abs bleed and key programming.
I've never used a vehicle scan tool before so it wasn't a good first time. However I learnt how to use it through some youtube videos and I fell in love with it. That alone has paid for itself and I'm sure it will continue to do so. If you've used this tool before, he must be a great tool, if not, I recommend YouTube to learn. Customer service has been great, although there is very little they can do to help.
This is a powerful tool for a variety of needs in scanning car codes. It allows you to take it with you wherever you go to read codes, clear codes and find trouble codes. I With this excellent device you can avoid damaging your car and find fault codes. If you don't know something you can read the manual or contact an xtool technician so you can use it 100%.
It is a powerful tool, but keep in mind that you will need to read the manual and understand how this scanner works before operating it, and you will find that this scanner is a breeze to operate. There are some features that are not as intuitive as some less powerful scanners, but that's not a big deal. Anyway, I bought this because my old scanner couldn't access the brake circuit system to pull up the relevant codes to figure out what was wrong. And this diagnostic tool can!
Buyer beware, the best thing about this tool is the customer service, they move fast, but there are so many problems they have to. The tool misreports data, randomly freezes parameters or crashes completely while logging, and the screen flicker issue seems to have been resolved with the recent firmware update. I use the tool mostly on Chevrolets but it's not that stable
