This is the third camera type I bought for my car. The first two were mounted to the windshield and weren't supposed to be exposed to extreme heat. Um, well. So, anyway, this one is protected from the sun and it's been working well for over a year. I liked it so much that I bought two more to give away as gifts.
I really like this product - the Yada RoadCam 720p Mirror Camera, BT58361-6/2, black Car Dash Camera. I look forward to seeing the road clearly whether rain or snow. To actually take pictures and seeing and recording the flow of traffic. I was happy to receive my Das Cam because it is something i have wanted for a long time. I put the product on the dash and misplaced some of the hardware that came with the product. I wasnt able to use thecproduct as i wanted to because iit had to held or it had to lean against something to stay in place. I hope to do another review of this product when i have all of the hardware to keep the product in proper place. I would recommendthis product to a friend. Thank you!
This product I put on my grandsons truck. He is a new driver and this device can help in seeing how he is driving and or if there is an accident who is as fault. It is a great device with some relief to parents that if something does happen they have some record. It is good for any driver that likes to record trips and if captured an accident to what has happened. Great device. Fits well and easy usage instructions. The mirror is wider than his so it gives some extra coverage width , view out the back. He likes it very much and uses it daily. I am thinking about getting one for myself. Recommend this product to everyone.
Setup is as simple as attaching it to your rearview mirror with the rubber straps and then plugging it into the car's power socket. It records one video file each time the car is running, although you can stop the current video at any point and start a new one. The video feed isn't high definition, but at 1280x720 resolution the quality is good enough to see faces and to have a clear picture. It uses a standard 4gb SD card (included), so you can either transfer the videos and reuse that card after it's full or just buy another. The only potential drawbacks are that this probably won't work with a smart mirror that has buttons along the bottom, and it only works when the car is running. I would recommend it to anyone who's in the market for a road cam and doesn't need high definition.
This camera was easy to install. It clipped to my mirror. It was also easy to setup to record. The 720p recording quality takes sharp videos. This camera is very useful if you do a lot of driving in heavy traffic and will provide a recording of your trip should you need it. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because there are 1020p cameras available should you need an extra sharp picture.
The Yada 720P mirror roadcam BT58361 is very easy to install and after reading the included instruction sheet and performing the original setup is easy to operate. The roadcam comes with a 4 GB micro sd card which allows for from 1 to 5 minutes of loop recording ( depending on the quality of recording you have decided on) before it records over the recorded image. It will accept up to a 32 GB micro sd high speed C10 card if more recording room is wanted. In the event of an accident or impact, the roadcam will lock the recording of the event. I did not test this function. The screen in the mirror is small at 2.4 inch but does offer a clear picture. This unit also has a setting for use when parked. The main use for this roadcam is to record what happened in the event of an accident. It comes with a one year warranty so the quality of the item should be good.
The camera works great and the picture quality is good. The problem with this one is that it fits over your rearview mirror and blocks the garage door openers and other things visible on your mirror (for instance the direction of travel). The cord hanging down from the unit is not optimal either. Short-term use, like for a road trip, this would be handy and could provide valuable information if needed, however I think one of the Yada dash cams would be a better choice.
There are pros and cons to this dash camera. First, it reminds me of an old Garmin that you have to deal with every time you want to go somewhere. You don't have to input any information, but you must make sure that the camera is plugged into a USB port--which, of course, the photo on the package doesn't show. The good thing is it will run if the car is turned off. I think just having it mounted on the window will deter anyone considering breaking into your car. But my purpose in using it is to protect me in the event of an accident. In this case, it works to record during the daytime, but footage at night is difficult to make out. Rather than having a USB cord dangling from the camera, I think I'll just go with karma. Probably a better idea to have one of these if you live in a high-traffic, city area, where accidents occur more frequently. Having the footage available in case of having to appear in court or answer to an insurance adjuster would be beneficial. I think a camera that recorded what's going on inside a car in the event of being pulled over and harassed would be an even better idea for a dash cam with all the profiling that we see going on!
This camera comes with the mirror camera, a charger, a booklet, a memory card, and rubber fasteners. The booklet shows a routing suggestion for the power cable using your panel to hide the cable. And the booklet shows how to attach the mirror camera to your mirror. It took about forty five minutes to install the camera into my vehicle. Running the wire around my window to insure it is secure and able to reach the cigarette lighter in my vehicle was a little time consuming. But it is set up. The picture quality is quite good when looking at footage from the camera. I like that it starts the camera when you start the vehicle. And stops the camera when you turn off the camera. The mirror camera gives a pretty good view of what is going on in front of your vehicle. The mirror camera will also take video when you get in an accident. And it will lock the video so that it does not record over it as the video loop happens. It also has a Park mode where it will record a twenty second video if the vehicle is hit while the vehicle is parked and turned off. My problem with this mirror camera is that nothing on the box or any description I saw said that this mirror camera will only fit on certain size mirrors. And the mirror that it fits on has to be small as the camera will set beside your mirror.
The Yada RoadCam was easy to install on a smaller mirror with ease. It worked pretty well camera was fairly good but was blocked on my Toyota mirroring which was much larger. You have to get use to the blue hue of the mirror. We installed the Yada cam on our Saturn with no issues. I personally would enjoy a dash cam that is clip added while keeping my original mirror or dash style. But this is pretty good.
