Yakima EXO SwingBase Hitch Base Rack System - 2 Inch Swing Away Hitch Mount

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This SwingBase is super solid and easy to install to the hitch. It is a great and convenient option considering there are so many options in the market. However, I wanted the flexibility to use this with an open rack (GearWarrior) or box (GearLocker) when camping, and a bike rack when biking. I have only used it with the GearWarrior so far but I love it. It doesn't make any noise and I hardly realize it's even there, except when backing up. The only negative is it's heavy, so depending on how much you can lift, you may need two people to assist you when installing it. However the heavy weight is what allows you to load up to 250 lbs on it with the GearWarrior (when it's the only thing attached). I'm excited to purchase the bike rack and try that out next!

And also you can switch to whatever accessory you want. You can switch the system with various accessories - sold separately to carry all your biking, camping, or skiing gears. The system is compatible with a bike rack, ski rack, cargo carrier, and an enclosed cargo carrier, and you can easily swap them out to match any outdoor activity. For me personally, i could use this for my bike or gear locker for camping. It also Swings away from car with gear loaded to provide easy access to rear of vehicle. For biking, you can pair a bike rack with an enclosed cargo carrier This is only Fits 2" hitch (class 3 and 4) receivers. This product also Included with HitchLock locks EXO Swingbase to vehicle. Also included with a Built-in bottle opener for your drinks when you are in camping. The most important thing about this product is Very easy to install this, simply slide the shank on the base unit into your 2" hitch receiver, insert the threaded hitch pin, and tighten it down. All of this equipment is well built and was designed with ease of use and security in mind. The hitch part is surprisingly pretty heavy, but once it's connected this weight gives the hitch a sturdy feel. Thank you Yakima! Now i am so ready for my summer activity.

Initially we thought that the EXO wasn't compatible with the Tesla. After carefully reading the instructions, we realized the frame is adaptable. We just had to switch the direction of the screw holder (not the technical term). So I advise, read the instructions carefully and slowly. Overall, it it a very solid base and with the variety of accessories available it's a great piece for those who love outdoor activities that require lots of equipment. I'm very impressed by how sturdy it is an encouraged that it will be durable and stable. The base is also the foundation is compatible with multiple add-ons such as for bikes, camping, skiing and more. So the capacity and variety makes this base very essential.

No more having to remove everything just to gain access to truck bed or trunk area. The EXO swingbase can use many different available attachments. Which is super nice and convenient. I can tell this will last because it comes from a great company who make terrific products!

Yamika included the tools to install the swing base. It took 30mins to install and use. Appreciate the many versatile options to use. Such as bike rack, skiing gear, and storage capabilities. The swing base has an added security feature to lock it with a key.

What makes this hitch accessory better than others on the market is the fact that it can swing out without removing whatever you are hauling. Not only can the entire base swing out, but you can add extra pieces to haul more than just one thing. You can haul a cargo box or cooler along with your bikes on just one hitch. We went from hauling on the front and back of our truck, to just hauling in the back because of this! We are really enjoying the convenience of dropping our tailgate without having to remove any hitch accessories. However, I've removed one star from my rating because of the price point of these products. It is definitely an investment if you choose to use this brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once is instaled is estable. The tools needed are not simple tools and it requieres two people to pick it up, it is very heavy! Loosening the bar to swing it's a positive feature. The locks idea is great, but having too many attachements is not a realistic idea. The strap for the lock needs to be half inch longer and inside the cap a grip is needed to stay on place. Good product but it needs some improvements!
