I purchased this lock for an AirBNB I manage after I had reviewed several sites comparing various locks, and I am glad I did. The step-by-step video instructions on how to install it made it an easy task and changing the code for guests has been intuitively simple. Although it's only been a month, I am very happy with this lock and would heartily recommend it to others.
Love the lock and is the second one I own. Had quick and great customer service on some of my concerns that were quickly addressed. This is certainly a solid 5 star lock and customer service.
Great lock, make sure it has Apple Home KEY, if you want to unlock using your phone next to the lock,
Easy installation with step-by-step instructions. I've had no trouble setting the lock up in the app either.
The product is working great so far if there's anything that can improve is the information about whether it comes with the Internet bridge attachment that is supposed to have in order to communicate via Wi-Fi from Lock to router
The lock hardware itself is very well made and has a solid look and feel. Everything else about this 'smart lock' solution though, requires a lot of parts and things coming together correctly for the lock to work as advertised. For instance the auto-unlock feature relies on your smartphone's wifi, Bluetooth and GPS functions to be configured and working near flawlessly for the feature to work properly. The ability to 'see the lock' remotely and control it remotely is also something that for me works only sporadically. Be prepared to pore through Yale support web pages to get details and support if things don't go smoothly.
Wifi disconnects throughout the day. We have a complete smart home which no other device has any issues except for the yale lock. Outside of the wifi issues, the look and feel is awesome.
Not great. The Auto Unlock feature only works when you have been “away”, meaning 200 yds from the home. If you've just been out in the yard, you need to key in your code or open the app. You have to have the Yale app running on your phone (and tracking your location) at all times I order for Auto Unlock to work. Nothing about that in the sales literature… Ecobeee integration not very well thought out. The lock includes a door sensor, but for Ecobee security, you need a separate sensor. Two sensors for each door? Hardly what I consider integration. Not very smart for a smart lock. I feel ripped-off.
Nothing but issues with any lock that requires the Yale Access app and Lynx. Locks themselves are good. Better hardware than the YRD216s. But nothing but issues when trying to get them to play nicely with Lynx.
Seems to be a good lock, but their android app doesn't work most of the time, and if you wait forever on hold to talk to support, their answer is "well, do you have an apple device you can use?" Lame.
