Before I had just august, with keypad, and connect. Very sketching and went through batteries like crazy. Half the time it would not work or connect with Bluetooth. So I upgraded and purchased tge yale lock with keypad, keyless, wifi, and Bluetooth with connect. Since I purchased, I have not had any connection issues and works great.
It's Great! Sleek design and better than earlier generations. Brushed nickel finish fits perfectly with our door and haven't had any problems (yet) with battery life like on our previous generation Yale Nest lock. Assure 2 is the way to go.
Super awesome Wi-Fi and bluetooth deadbolt system. I have installed this deadbolt lock on my front door and the instllation wasn't that much of a pain. Yale provides some very useful tutorial videos that walk you through the install process. I was able to get this deadbolt lock system up in running in about 45 minutes. I really like that this system has Alexa built-in so that I can ask Alexa to lock or unlock the front door. It will also unlock the front door as I approach it as long as I have my phone with me. Overall I have been very happy with this system It was easy to install and it is very easy to use. Overall I would highly recommend this Yale Assure Lock system.
The main feature that sets this lock apart from the competition is a working auto-unlock / auto-lock feature based on a geofence around your home. This is a big time saver. It works well with the Connected by August WiFi version. Installation is fairly straightforward, this replaces your existing deadbolt and it's only slightly more complicated than installing any other deadbolt. No Specialty tools required and DIY friendly. The outside keypad looks beautiful, the inside box is a bit clunky looking because it has to hold the batteries and electronics. Works great and gives peace of mind knowing when your door is opened and by whom.
Attractive and has a heavy, solid feel. Directions are for the base model and if you added a module it'll look like you have items which aren't on the parts list. Don't panic; you just have to rely on the app for info on how to add the WiFi/BT module. Also note (not in the directions) that you have to take a battery out, install the module, then put the battery back in. Physical installation pretty straightforward, although I would prefer the bolt have more of a taper to lessen the chance of it hanging up on the strike plate. Would buy again.
The wifi module included was difficult to set up as the documentation sucked. I actually used another vendors instructions to set it up, and an app not even mentioned in Yales documents, but was an official app. Once I got it working I liked it. Just needs better instructions. The instructions focus on putting the lock on the door and setting up manual codes. Really neglects the wifi part. If the documentation was better and I did not spend days trying to figure it out, I would of given a better rating.
I have reported misinformation about what is included in the box. Walmart description includes "What's Included: Yale Lock, Mounting hardware, Wireless bridge, Door template, batteries" However, there is no wireless bridge included and this add-on is an additional 100 dollars at most retailers. So now i have to spend another 100 for the wifi and remote capabilities
I cannot get this lock to work remotely and it's so frustrating. My codes for rental clients aren't working, it works well with the master code or if my phone is close by.
One of my orignal Yale locks stopped working after a year. I spent hours trying to reestablish a wifi connection. This new Yale Assure lock works with a different app so codes must all be added separately. Very frustrating and inconvenient.
I requested a black and a oil Bronze was sent. I tried to call to change, sent email and nobody replied. I had to use the wrong one. I found out after that black was sold out.
