I upgraded our system from a Schlage keypad to the Yale Assure 2 a few weeks ago. The DIY install was super easy and the app is very intuitive. I also really appreciate how easy it is to add temporary access for neighbors / contractors / etc. Our door sits ever-so-slightly offset from the deadbolt channel, so I have a little more work to do before we can lock remotely.
Very easy to install. Worked great. Would definitely make this purchase again.
It's a great lock. The installation is pretty straightforward. The video they provide from the app is excellent and the lock itself is actually a really quality lock. I'm very happy with it and I'm happy. I decided to use Yale.
Been using for 3 weeks - works great, looks great, easy install. Battery life still at 100% - just don't pinch the wire when installing per the instructions. Purchased buttons, keyed, Wifi options - highly recommend!
Works perfectly in my rental property. Integrates to Airbnb and my guests get codes sent automatically.
[Employee of yalehome] Lock works great. But when I tried to purchase a second lock for another house on my property my order was refunded with no explanations
When away from the house, app works sparingly as the lock drops wifi connection. It is not a signal strength issue as it is a new house with high speed connectivity and nearly line of site to the wifi adapter. A month later and I'm still waiting for my front door handle.
[Employee of yalehome] Overall, I'm happy with the Yale Assure Lock 2 Keypad with Wi-Fi. The lock itself works as expected and feels well built. Installation was fairly easy and straightforward, and the app has been reliable and intuitive to use. I especially like the ability to create, share, and manage unique access codes for others, as well as seeing a log of who enters the house and when—those features are extremely convenient and add real peace of mind. My biggest gripe, however, is battery life. The lock has only been installed for about a month, and the batteries are already down to a critical level (around 10%). This is surprising, especially since we generally lock and unlock the door manually rather than relying heavily on the app or auto-lock features. For a smart lock at this price point, I expected significantly better battery performance. That said, aside from the battery issue, the lock has performed well and does exactly what it's supposed to do. If Yale can improve battery longevity, this would be an excellent product. As it stands, it's a good smart lock with great features, but the frequent need to replace batteries is a notable drawback.
Can't connect to WiFi. Many other IoT devices have connected fine. With Bluetooth only most of the features I want are now not possible. Way too complicated in a world where IoT connections should be a piece of cake.
Total garbage. I have two of these, both fail to work properly for different reasons. They are eating batteries (though feet from wifi and have string signal), one refuses to keep Bluetooth connected long enough to calibrate, so it's effectively useless. The other took forever to connect… multiple tries over several days. Finally got it to work, but eventually both disappeared from my HomeKit app and don't want to reconnect. I've factory reset and am fighting them again, can't calibrate no matter what I do… Simple, I wasted $, have been using these mostly as dumb locks for a year until I got locked out the other day and the front door failed to unlock for some reason I can't identify. Got me to retry working with these but. Now I'm so annoyed with them I'm just going to toss or relegate to a garage door and go back to Schlage.
