Great improvement over its predecessor. Connectivity is 100% more stable and hardware seems more sturdy. Look is also more minimal. Works smoothly and fast whenever the close/open function is sent from wireless device. Super happy with this purchase.
I put one of these locks into my rental as requested by Air Bnb and I have loved it! I purchased another for my home. It was a bit difficult to install, and would like the fit and finish to be better, but it works well! I love that I can create codes for different family members and the BIG bonus is that once my first one was linked to AirBnB, the Yale app automatically sends each new guest an access code and discontinues it when they check out. Makes my job MUCH easier! This is such a great capability to have. Thank You Yale!!
Easy set up, but had a similar Yale lock so no drilling needed. Apple HomeKit was a bit of an issue until I discovered that “Yale setting” had to be tweaked.
Set up can be a little complicated, especially if connecting to wifi module but once set up it works great
This lock does not come with a WiFi module. The module itself is $90, so all you can do with this is stand infront of the door (my bedroom 20 feet away was not within bluetooth range) and lock-unlock. I have exact one with module, came with my security alarm system, I can check when I am in bed or at work, or in another country, if I lock the door. I can unlock it for some one, I can see all the records/history of door unlocking and who did it. It is what it should be as default. If you don't need any of those, just get a mechanical one for 3rd of the price (vevor or similar brand) that will last you longer than door itself.
I bought this based on a Consumer Reports ranking and after installing it appears to work so far EXCEPT: 1. The product says "Bluetooth" but to activate the Auto Unlock feature you actually need WiFi. The Auto Unlock feature was the main reason I bought this so, unless I buy the WiFi Module and install WiFi in my home, I cannot use this feature. Seems very misleading. 2. The thumbturn on the inside seems loose and wobbly. It works fine but compared to my previous standard manual lock it seems cheap. Will I return it? Not sure if I still can but I am thinking of it. Not sure if there is any better product.
I have not received it yet. Shipping is quite late.
This item came as a resale item when it was not marked as one, it also had scratches and defects on the exterior of the device. Furthermore this device was registered to a previous owner making it unusable to me.
Purchased the lock so that I can open my door from anywhere. I discovered that I can only unlock the door with the phone when I am home which defeated the purpose. I add some other part they recommended however that will not allow me to connect It to my internet because it needs to be 2g.
they charge an extra 80$ if you want wifi access. they wait until you install it to tell you that. keypad also sucks. does not respond to your fingers at all. so you're just sitting there for minutes poking it waiting for it to wake up
