I recently installed the Assure lock 2. I am extreamly happy with my new lock. All the features and functions work beyond my expiations. After having keys my entire life, I quickly adjusted to the easy of leaving and returning to my Apt. I live in NYC and feel safe with the bolt that locks the door.
What a fantastic product. Well built, works exactly as intended. Great features. Great looking. Love it!
Didn't have clear instructions on how to program but I was able to figure it out after watching some videos on the internet.
Yale Assure Lock 2 is a good looking well made smart lock the pluses are that it works with my Iphone 14 and GEO fencing to open the door, attractive from the outside and its works very well with homeKit so if you don't buy the Wii module you can still connect remote ( check that the door is locked battery life ect) very easy to install hardware but as a note the software install was challenging and took a Yale tech to get it strait( he was very knowledge ), the inside module it a little to large for my taste but I guess that the tradeoff to have the ability to install a wifi module later. the back key is nice and you can make copies if you need to.
We tried a Level lock and another off brand smart lock brand before landing on Yale. Super happy with the tactile buttons and connectivity with the phone. Would definitely recommend to others.
It makes a noise when you unlock it.... and it is loud. It can wake the whole house. There doesn't seem to be any volume control in the app. Otherwise, we love it.
Pros: 1. The keypad is great. In fact, we also have the Assure Lock 2 Plus, which has touchscreen keypad only, and this keypad feels superior. So if you're trying to decide between touch screen and keypad, I recommend the keypad. 2. The lock looks great. 3. SUPER EASY to install on a standard door with deadbolt Cons: 1. The "bluetooth" feature is subpar. It takes a longer time that is desirable for the Yale app on the phone or Apple Home to recognize the lock, once in proximity of the door. DON'T buy the version with Bluetooth only. Spend the extra money for the WiFi version. 2. It's REALLY clunky to set up the codes and remote access features because of the need to be standing so close to the lock and the lag time to connect (again - this is partly a result of the bluetooth version of the lock. The Assure Lock 2 Plus, which has more advanced smart features, is far superior in that sense to either version of this lock. 3. The cylinder is not compatible in size with standard Schlage or Multi-lock cylinders, so you can't swap it out for your own keyed locks (this is the same problem for all of the Yale Assure Lock 2 models. We have a single Multi-lock key for all our exterior doors (which was already swapped from a standard schlage deadbolt lock), and we wanted to be able to use the same Multi-lock on this lock... no luck. Conclusion - If you're looking for the aesthetics and quality of a Yale lock, but really want the smart feature, then buy the Yale Assure 2 Plus with WiFi. It's worth the cost upgrade, since it's much "smarter" than this lock, easier to set up, and more compatible with Apple devices. If the ONLY thing you care about for your lock is having a compatible smart lock and nothing else, then there are other brands out there to look at.
Sleek but not actually a smart lock. Can not unlock remotely. Bluetooth auto unlock feature doesn't work well. Often unlocks once I'm back home and inside already.
I haven't been able to make it through setup. I'd like to have the keypad working but haven't figured it out yet.
The auto unlock feature doesn't work. I have been in contact with Yale since the lock was installed approximately 3 weeks ago and still have no resolution.
