Runs great and powers through tough weeds with no problem. Be sure to use strong line if tackling tough weeds. I recommend using premium gasoline or ethanol free gasoline in the machine. 87 octane gas tends to cause the carburetor to gum up faster. I highly recommend this for getting the job done without killing your back lugging around a standard weed eater.
startes up on the first pull every time. chews through weeds waist high, as well as small saplings, really well. only issue is when using on a hill it loses compression and stalls out. Mow going up hill, not downward. also can roll fairly easily of mowing sideways on hill. its light enough weight that i caught it before it rolled over but some may not be able to. so just be careful and think ahead when tackling a hill. i bought 3 of these. super happy with them.
I received my walk behind weed eater on August 1, 2025, but didn't get to use it until October 5, 2025. It arrived in very good condition, and it was easy to get it up and running when I finally got the chance to use it. I'm retired, in my late 70s, and my large back yard was covered with weeds after years of neglect. The weed eater was a beast! It tackled the job with no problem whatsoever! This is a totally reliable machine! My only recommendation is to soak the heavy duty trimmer lines in water before using your machine on tough jobs; they'll last longer.
This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It's a weed eater that you push like a lawn mower and much easier on your arms because you don't have to hold the machine in the air. It works great and I highly recommend it! I always buy the protection plan for every machine or electronic device. It's well worth it.
I received the package in good shape; the push trimmer was well packaged and had all the components, including oil, height adjuster and a manual for both the Briggs and Stratton engine and Yard Force chassis. All I had to do was to roll it out of the box, straighten and lock the handles and put in oil and gas. It started the FIRST pull of the cord! I did a small section of the yard and re-started the engine just to be sure. I like the effortless maneuverability and low noise level (as compared to my older Craftsman push trimmer). At this point, I am very pleased!
When received the Yard Force trimmer was assembled. All I had to do was unfold and adjust the handle for my height. I then put oil and gasoline in the engine. The oil was included in the box. A single pull of the starter rope and the engine started. I've used the trimmer seven times and a single pull of the rope started the engine every time! It's a very nice trimmer and works very well.
The unit works great, but you need to position the trimmer so that the front is alway facing the weeds. The cutter nylon/plastic pieces that come with the trimmer are not very durable. Nylon cutter/plastic pieces are available that are much stronger and therefore last longer.
Is a good machine but the only thing wrong is they give u a couple of one foot string which is the perfect fit for this machine and then when u run out which will be real soon They want to sell you a skinny string and not give you the specifications of the string that comes with it So like I said great machine but the .155 string they recommend won't last you will go thru a lot of that for such a small job
I do not recommend buying this machine because after 3 months the flywheel fell off after the engine crankshaft shattered making the machine useless. Wal-Mart contacted them on my behalf and they were supposed to send me an e-mail with 24-48 hours and they never responded. You're better off going with a different manufacturer.
I thought this would be great it broke in the first ½ hour. I called the company they sent me a new head but didn't put thread in the holes where it skews in. It also took 3 weeks to get the part. So still broke they now won't respond to any email and all they tell me when I call is they will let them know. I will never buy this brand again. I got the insurance so now I'm going to call them and see what they can do for me. If you look at the pictures you can see the string goes through the piece that they weld on it breaks off. When I called the first time the lady on the phone knew what had happened before I even finished explaining. So now I'm out $300.00 and all the time I've spent on the phone and emailing them.
