Yardbird 21833 Chicken Plucker, Stainless Steel, 21833

This machine was simple to put together and easy to use. It cut my processing time to less than half the time it was taking me before. Only thing is, I scald my birds at around 130* Fahrenheit to keep the skin intact so it takes a little longer than 15 seconds to completely defeather. Not a big deal since it was taking me like half an hour before! Also found removing the legs quickly before putting the birds in the plucker allowed them to move around more easily without getting caught up and stuck as much!

Processed about 35 Cornish Cross and had no issues at all handling the task. Pretty easy to setup and relatively easy to clean. Like any other plucker, if you want it really clean, it just takes some extra time to get feathers out of the fingers.

Made the processing simpler. Only took about 20 seconds to defeather the 7 lb Cornish cross chickens. Happy with the plucker

Love it! Works great. First time processing chickens and had 14 ready for freezer super fast thanks to the yardbird!

Life. Changing. Processed 24 bird in 2 hours start to finish. I had help, but that usually takes the better part of a day

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It does work good. A couple of things to make it better would be to develop a chute to direct the water and feathers away from the plucker motor and to develop a deflector to keep the feathers from wrapping around the shaft by the motor seal.

The yardbird makes the job so much easier. Amazing how fast it works. My only complaint is that the switch is at the bottom of the machine. Not a deal breaker just a nuisance. I love that it comes apart and is easy to clean for the most part. However, I will say my bigger chickens tended to get broken wings because they got stuck. Overall I am satisfied.

I have used this plucker one time and it preformed as advertised. I have no complaints, and would recommend it to anyone that has a few birds to process.

Unit is overall well-built and works very well. I don't like the fact the water cascading down the electric components even though they are sealed, years down the road it could become dangerous. I will most likely make modifications to the on/off switch location and maybe add a handle to make moving unit around much easier after warranty expiration. I'm overall satisfied with the purchase, however, feel that it's expensive.

Great item Only problem was did not receive shipping notification until after item arrived was lucky I happened to be home when it arrived
